Mark your calendars! The Vectren Dayton Air Show will be here earlier this year on July 7-8, 2011 at the Dayton International Airport. This year, the US Navy Blue Angels will be headlining. I love the Blue Angels and cannot wait to see them show this year!
I am always amazed by the planes along with the performers throughout the show. This year you can expect performances from Tora Tora Tora, Mike Goulian an Aerobatic performance, A-4B Skyhawk, Misty Blues along with Dayton Air Show first timer, Sea Harrier, F/A2 and many more. Be sure to check out the entire performer list along with the show schedule for this year.
Also, make plans to see the 100 Static Aircraft that will be displayed and learn about the planes from those serving our country who fly them! My boys love planes and what a great way to learn all the cool stuff about them from the pilots!
If you will be bringing the family, you will want to take the kids to the Vecten Kids’ Hanger. This is a great place to get out of the heat for a break, especially for younger kids. Some activities include:
Also, you will want to take your school age kids to Aerospace Adventure! You will find hands-on activities, demonstrations along with experiments recommended for kids ages 6-16 years old. My boys learn the best with these types of activities and I know this is a must do for our family!
General Admission Tickets are $20 for Adults, $15 for Youth (6-11) and Seniors, Kids 5 and under are Free and can be purchased here. However, save $3 per ticket with your Kroger Plus Card by purchasing them at any Dayton Area Kroger stores.

My 3 kids have never been! They would love it.
We’d love to see any of the heritage/historical flights — we are big history buffs in our household and just watched “Red Tails” the other night. Excited to live close enough (Huber Heights) that this is a short hop for us to go.
My family would love to see tora tora tora and there pyro explosions agine this year.
I am excited to see the Blue Angels, as one of them is a family friend of mine!!!!! I would LOVE to go see him!!

My family loves all of the planes. I especially enjoy the excitement on my Daughters face and how her eyes light up when the planes fly over. Hoping to see that joy again and hopefully see it reflected in her Brothers eyes for his first trip to the Air Show.
We love the airshow and support it faithfully every year! It is so easy to watch the show by parking in Vandalia or Tipp City, but we purchase tickets because we know if we don’t support the Vectren Dayton Airshow financially, they could stop having it.

I’ve never been to the air show. I would love to go. As far as performance I most look forward to, I’m torn between seeing the Sea Harrier, or the NASA exhibit and meeting the NASA astronaut.
