Dayton Free Weekend Events: November 30 – December 2, 2012

Here a few fun family events that are absolutely FREE this weekend.  I love this time of year for tree lightings, Santa sightings and more.

Friday, November 30

 Kettering: Mayor’s Annual Tree Lighting @6pm

Come out to the Lincoln Park Civic Commons for the tree lighting at 6:30pm.There will be FREE entertainment along with music, carriage rides, hot chocolate and treats.  This will be fun for the entire family!

Saturday, December 1

Town & Country Shopping Center: Alan St. John Author Signing @11am – 3pm

Come to the Town & Country Shopping Center in Kettering for the book signing of Oinkadoodlemoo.  The book is based on the characters Oink, Doodle, and Moo along with their adventures.  They are inspired from the family BBQ restaurant OinkaDoodleMoo.

It will be located in the community room and you will have to purchase the book in order to have it signed.  My boys love to meet authors since they think it is so cool.

Santa’s Arrival at Town & Country Shopping Center @11am-2pm

Santa will make his appearance at the Town & Country Shopping Center at 11am – 2pm.  You will be able to visit with Santa and hear a story from Mrs. Claus.  There will lots of activities and games for the kids.  Bring your cameras to take the kids photo with Santa.

Lowe’s Build and Grow: Sandman’s Plane @10am

The kids can come out to Lowe’s and build the Rise of the Guardians’ Sandman’s Plane.  It is a free event but you must register in order to save your spot.  All participants will receive a kit, apron, goggles, project themed patch and a certificate of completion.

Home Depot Kids Workshop: Frame @9am -12pm

Bring the kids out to build their own picture frame for kids ages 5 – 12 years old.  They will learn DIY skills along with tool safety.  Each participant will receive a kit, kid sized orange apron, pin, and certificate of achievement.
