Dayton Free Weekend Events: Labor Day 2012 Edition


Wow! Summer is coming to a close and there is a lot of Free Events and Activities that you can do with your family for FREE.  What are you plans?

Saturday, September 1

Cincinnati Museum Center: Free Admission to the Museum of Natural History & Science

In honor of Neil Armstrong, you can visit the Museum of Natural History & Science at the Cincinnati Museum  Center.  If you do not have a membership, this is the time to make the trip!  However, they will be closed until 2pm tomorrow for a special event.

Air Force Museum: Giant Scale Radio Controlled Model Aircraft Show @9am

There will be more than 100 pilots performing awesome aerial skills with R/C jets, warbirds and helicopters.  They will even has a half-time show from 11am-1pm daily.  However, check the website for inclement weather.

You will enter the WPAFB at the Spinning Road gate located off of Airway Road.  However, you can still enter from the main gates as well. You will want to bring blankets or lawn chairs to enjoy the show.  You can see the show from 9am-5pm.

Hidden Valley Fruit Farm: Grape Escape @11am

They will have train rides, live music, craft vendors and kids activities.

Miamisburg: River [email protected]

This is free event with live entertainment, music, kids bounce house, play zone, face painting, photo booth and more.  Also, fireworks can be viewed from the Linden Ave Bridge at 9:05pm.

This should be fun for the entire family!

Sunday, September 2

Kettering: Holiday at Home @10am

Head over to Kettering for the Annual Holiday at Home Celebration.  There will be Arts & Crafts, Concessions, Entertainment, Children's Activities, along with  Truck & Car Shows.  The event will be held from 10am-6pm.

Downtown: Dayton Reggae Fest @1pm

The festival will be held at Dave Hall Plaza which is located on Fourth and Jefferson Streets.  There will be live music throughout the day will Seefari headlining.

They will have train rides, live music, craft vendors and kids activities.

The Greene Family Movie Night: Dr. Seuss The Lorax

Come out to Town Square to watch Dr. Seus The Lorax on an inflatable screen for the last Free Family Movie Night this summer. The movie will begin around 8:25pm.

Bring blankets and snacks for a fun outdoor movie night.  Just hope the rain holds out!

Kettering: Holiday at Home @10am

Head over to Kettering for the Annual Holiday at Home Celebration Parade.  It will begin at 9:50 at Stroop/Far Hills and will travel north.  You will want to get their early to set up your blankets and chairs.
