Dayton Free Weekend Events: August 24-26, 2012

Here are a few free events or activities that you can do with the family this weekend.

Saturday, August 25

Lowe's Build & Grow: Shrek Onion Carriage @10am

Bring the kids out to build a Shrek inspired Onion Carriage.  Each participant will receive a kid-sized apron, goggles, project themed patch and a certificate of completion.

This is a free event but you must register to ensure your spot!

Sunday, August 26

Kettering Recreation Center: Free Open Ice Skate @1pm

Be sure to take the family for a Free Open Ice Skate from 1pm-3pm. You will be able to participate in a mini group lesson and watch some local figure skaters show their stuff!

However, you will have to rent skates for only $2.50.  Still a great family activity that will keep you cool and not break the bank!

Germantown MetroPark: Fossil Hunt @2pm

Journey into the past to discover fossil record.  You will look for salamanders and other creek dwelling creators.  You will learn to follow collecting guidelines. Be sure to wear shoes and clothes that can get wet and muddy.

Be sure to register by calling: 937/277-4178.  However, walk-ins will be welcome.
