Dayton Free Weekend Events | May 7

Here are some Free Family Friendly  things to do this weekend!  These are  great indoor events if we have another rainy weekend.

US Air Force Museum

IMAX is celebrating 20 years this Saturday and will be offering two free showings of the films that were featured opening weekend back in 1991.

You can see “The Fly” at 10am and “The Dream is Alive” at 11am.  Seating is limited and will be on a first come first basis.

Home Depot Kids Workshop:Tulip Planter @ 9am-12pm

Come out to create a Tulip plantar for Mom on Mother’s Day.  Each participant will receive Kids sized orange apron, and an achievement pin.  This project is geared towards children 5-12 years old.  You may want to get there early to ensure your child receives a kit.

Lowes Build and Grow: Mother’s Day Vase @10pm-12pm

Come out and make Mom a special vase for Mother’s Day.  It is really cute and looks like you can write a special message on it with chalk.  You will need to register online at Lowes to ensure there is class space at your location.

Every participant will receive the project kit, goggles, apron, project themed patch and a certificate of merit upon completion.

Michael’s-Free Make-It Take-It National Scrapbook Day Event @ 10am-12pm

Create a Free Scrapbook page for a  gift for Mother’s Day. You could purchase a frame to put the created scrapbook page so she can display or into a scrapbook.

This is for ages 14 and up and while supplies last.

Toys R Us- Lego Ninjago Spinjitzu Training Camp @12pm-2pm

Come out and learn new spinning techniques with Lego Ninjago.  You can battle with your friends and check out this latest product from Lego.  They will have giveaways while supplies last.

It looks like the Beavercreek location is the only one participating in the Dayton area.

Jo-Ann Fabrics-Free Demos and Make-It Take-It @11am-3pm

If you are feeling a little crafty this weekend, you may want to visit your local Jo-Ann’s to learn a new technique.  I love to be creative and learn how to create new things.

  • 11am-1pm Come out and make a Mother’s Day Make-It Take-It
  • 1pm-3pm You can learn Foodcrafting with Wilton Products
