Dayton Free Weekend Events: May 25-28, 2012

Here are some free activities and events that are free this weekend in Dayton.

Lowe’s Build & Grow: Ice Cream Truck @10am

You can build your very own ice cream truck. It includes cutouts along with stickers to create your own design. My kids love hearing the sounds of the ice cream truck and love to use their own money for a treat.  Be sure to register your child to ensure they have space.

Possum Creek MetroPark: Draft Horse Demo Day @1pm-4pm

Bring the kids out to see the real power that horses can bring to doing farm chores. There will be hands on demonstrations on cultivating and should be fun and educational for the kids.

You can register and walk-ins are welcome.  You can meet at the crop fields.

Dayton VA Center: Patriots Freedom Festival @11am-9pm

Come celebrate Memorial Day with a patriotic festival.  There will be live entertainment, re-enactments, military displays, kids activities, historical tours and more!

Carillon Park: Dayton Heritage Festival @11am-9pm

This is a free event for the entire family to enjoy.  There will be live entertainment, check out the exhibits, activities and booths! They have just expanded the exhibits and you can see them for FREE.  The best part is that you can watch the fireworks show at dusk! Oh, how I love fireworks!

The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra will performed at 7pm to salute those who serve in the Armed Forces.

You can get Free Parking at Welcome Stadium and take the free shuttle to the festival.
