Here are some events that you can do for free this weekend!

Kettering Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting @6pm

Bring the family out for a FREE festive fun event!  The tree lighting and entertainment will begin at 6:30pm.  There will be lots to enjoy and will include:

  • Live Music
  • Carriage Rides
  • Hot Chocolate
  • Sweet Treats from Krispy Creme
  • Treats from Edible Arrangements

 Christmas in Waynesville, 11am-9pm

There will be 1300 Luminaries, carriage rides, Entertainment, shopping and more!

Lowe’s Build & Grow: Caboose @10am-12pm

Bring the kids out to build a caboose.  This is a free event but you will want to register to ensure you location has the space for your child.  Each participant will receive a kit, goggles, apron, project themed patch and a certificate of merit upon completion.

Home Depot Kid’s Workshop: Snowman Napkin Holder 9am-12pm

Bring the kids out to make a festive Snowman Napkin Holder.  You may want to get there early to ensure that the class has space and a kit for your child.  Every participant will receive a kit, orange kid-sized apron, and a pin.

Toys R Us: Countdown to Christmas @12pm-3pm

Bring the kids out to their favorite store on earth, Toys R Us!  They will be able to demo the FAO Schwarz Big Piano, Meet Geoffrey and Color a Countdown to Christmas Calendar!

This event is recommended for kids ages 3 and up.  All materials will be while supplies last and limited to one per child.

Michael’s Passport to Imagination @10am-2pm

Bring the kids out to create crafts for holidays around the world.  First up is Australia and you can do the following activities:

  • Christmas Calendar @10am-12pm
  • Stocking @12pm-2pm

Dayton Mall: Holiday Ballet with Miami Valley Dance Company @2pm

Everyone is invited to dance with the ballerinas from the Miami Valley Dance Company.  Talent is not required to participate as you dance to songs from the Christmas Ballet.

Christmas in Waynesville, 12pm-9pm

Mall at Fairfield Commons: Sensitive Santa, 9am-11am

This will be a great time to visit Santa for children with Autism.  The surroundings will be sensory friendly with a lower lighting and it will be quieter. Every child that visits Santa will receive a free Photo and giveaways.

Michael’s Passport to Imagination @1pm-4pm

Come out to celebrate the Holidays and travel to Germany.  You can do the following crafts today:

  • Rudolph’s Kitchen @1pm-3pm
  • Santa & Rudolph’s Treat Bag @3pm-4pm

Carriage Hill Metropark: Christmas at the Farm @12pm-5pm

This will really bring the holidays to life!  You will be able to string cranberries and popcorn for the cedar tree.  You will be able to sample the gingerbread and chestnuts from the fireplace.  Place some parlor games ant make a Victorian Christmas decoration to take home.  You may even see a bobsled, sleigh bells and a draft horse team to make the event complete!
