Right now, United Dairy Farmers has their Kids Flavored Ice Cream Cones for only $.99. This is such a great deal to take the kids out for a scoop of ice cream.
My boys love to get the Superman and Paint Ball flavors when we stop for ice cream after a baseball game or a treat with grandma. This is one of their favorite places for ice cream and my oldest called it pink spoon when he was a toddler. I think we will be going this weekend!

Here are a few free events going on this weekend.
Miami Valley South: Safety of Wheels Bike Rodeo @9am-12pm
Bring the whole family out along with their bicycles and helmets for a the Bike Rodeo. They will be be meeting at the Parking Garage on the upper deck of the hospital.
You will be able to meet McGruff the Crime Dog, try the maneuverability courses, and see the Care Flight Helicopter. This should be fun for the entire family.
PNC 2nd Street Market: Tab-a-pull-ooza @9am-3pm
Bring your pull tabs from cans to the market to support the Ronald McDonald House. While you are there, you can support many local vendors and businesses while listening to Classic Rock music from Drastic Measures. This is one of my favorite places!
Germantown MetroPark: Try Hiking @2pm-4pm
Come out to the park and learn a new trail at the Germantown Metropark. There will be volunteers and staff along the way for information and maps along the way. This is a great way to get out with the family and exercise at the same time!
Marketplace at Settlers Walk in Springboro: Family Pet Fair @12pm-4pm
This is a great family event that you can bring your dog with you. There will be dog costume contests, cake walk, goodie bags and activities for the kids. Some discounts will be offered as well.
Aullwood Garden: May Magic @2pm-4pm
Bring the family out to take a tour of the gardens and enjoy cookies and punch on the porch. You can meet in the parking lot. For more information, call 277-6545.
Wegerzyn Gardens: Bike Rodeo @12pm-3pm
Come out to Wegerzyn Gardens to learn bike safety with the kids. They will be fitting kids for a free bike helmet while supplies last and learning the rules of the road. They will be able to try out a bicycle road course with their bikes.

It is that time again to sign up the kids for Kids Bowl Free. and they have added more bowling centers in the Dayton Area. This program allows kids to bowl 2 Free Games every day throughout the entire summer. However, you will have to pay for shoe rental.
You can register online with you local bowling center. Once you register, you will receive your coupons for each week every Sunday via email. If you would like to join in, then you can add a Family Pass for up to 4 adult for only $24.95.
Participating Bowling Centers in Dayton Area are:
This deal usually runs from mid May until the kids are back in school. Check with your local Bowling Center for the exact details and dates. This is a great activity for extremely hot or rainy days. This will be our third year participating!

Right now, the Kettering Recreation is offering Discount Adventure Reef Water Park Passes for the 2012 season. You can save $5 off Individual Passes and $30 for Family Passes. For instance, a resident family pass is normally $182 but you can pick one up for only $152.
This is a great time to grab your season passes before the price goes up. They renovated the water park last year and I am hoping to take my boys.

Tomorrow, Dorothy Lane Market will be offering Kids Decorating Mother’s Day Cake for only $6 at all locations. The cake is 8″ Single Layer round cake that the kids can decorate for Mom.
This will be fun for the kids and a nice little dessert for Mother’s Day. Not to mention, totally delicious! I can honestly say that I have not had anything form their bakery that I have not loved! ;)

Did you know that this weekend that Chick-fil-A in Dayton is having Mother Son Date Knight? I just found out about it when I was a the Dayton Mall location grabbing a quick meal.
The event will be held on Saturday, May 12 at all the Dayton area locations. Reservations are still available and you can still reserve your spot with your boys here. This is not limited to just Moms and can be Grandmas, or even an Aunt. Seating with begin every hour starting at 4:30pm and will continue until 7:30pm.
I am really excited to have a little “date night” with them! It seems like they are growing up so fast before my eyes. Today, my baby is turning 8 years old and it just seems like yesterday he was born.
Seize this moment ladies! Spots are going fast and you will not to miss out!

Rave Motion Pictures is once again having their Free Family Film Festival this summer. All movies will be rated either G or PG and will be shown every Monday and Thursday at beginning 10 am and the doors will open at 9:30am.
On Monday, June 4th the Dayton South locations will kick off the festival with the movie, Cats & Dogs. However, the Greene and Huber Heights location will start one week later on June 11th. Here is this years lineup in order:
We love taking a few friends and catch some of these movies throughout the summer. These are perfect for rainy days and they are FREE! Not to mention, my boys love going to the theater even if it is a movie that they have seen before.

Mark your calendars! Dayton Children’s is teaming up with Senator Shannon Jones (R-Springboro) to promote bicycle helmet safety at the Coffman YMCA in Springboro. The event will be held on Saturday, May 12 at 10am. The first 100 Kids ages 5 through 14 will be fitted with a Free Bicycle Helmet.
Kids wearing bicycle helmets while riding their bikes and scooters can help prevent serious head injuries. I was shocked to learn that only 50% of the kids between the ages of 5 through 14 even own a helmet and not to mention that only 25% of those kids even wear them!
Our rule at our house is that they cannot ride their bikes or scooters without them. I am pretty sure that this has saved us from a trip to the ER a time or two since our boys are accident prone! The funny thing is that they are so used to wearing them that they will even wear them while running around outside our house
My boys could use some new helmets because they are cracked and falling apart! How about you? Do your kids their helmets?
