ConAgra Foods Child Hunger Ends Here

I am excited and proud to to share this information with you, finally!

I was contacted by ConAgra Foods to help promote a new campaign, Child Hunger Ends Here. This campaign is a partnership between ConAgra Foods and Feeding America (whom I mentioned back in 2008). Feeding America is a great organization and resource that helps you find food banks in your area (there is a current list of over 200 food banks). As a couponer, you well know that there is a mass surplus we can get so blessing others is an easy and amazing thing to be able to do.

To know that there are others out there who are hungry, truly breaks my heart. I have never experienced hunger pains, but I know there IS something I can do to help prevent that. Unfortunately, this economy has more and more using a food bank that never thought they would have to. Fortunately, Feeding America is a resource that is available to provide meals for families..

When it comes to children being hungry, I knew that Child Hunger Ends Here was something I wanted to put my effort into. According to a USDA study, 1 in 4 children don't know where their next meal is coming from. When I saw those stats, I just thought that even one is too many for me to stomach when it comes to a child!

Over the next several weeks, I will be sharing more about this campaign. But, even more, I will be doing something to help support this campaign! Stay tuned as I share what I will do to impact MY community!

There are several things people can do if this is something that you are interested in. Child Hunger Ends Here has several different ways you can get involved. They include:

Neighborhood Rally

Having a garage sale? Wanna get the kids involved to have a lemonade stand? With any of your events, you can register your Rally and get a toolkit to help with promotion. Donate a portion or all of your proceeds to Feeding America – it's up to you.

Clothes off our Back Auction

Have ya heard of Wisteria Lane? Well, there will be a big shebang to kick off the neighborhood rallies in April. There will be items donated for a public auction if celebrity/television stuff is your thang :) All proceeds go to Feeding America.

You can donate to Feeding America. Any donations made online will go to help your LOCAL community. I know sometimes sending money online, you never realize where it goes but we have been told it's helping YOUR community! I really appreciate this because I want to be able to help those surrounding me.

Purchase ConAgra Products

ConAgra Foods will be donating $1 for each participating brand item purchased. The $1 covers 7 meals. ConAgra Foods has agreed to donate money to cover up to 2.5 million meals! So, ya know what that means? USE those coupons from the March 14 Insert or this $1.50/4 ConAgra Foods Coupon to purchase items and save!

If you want to stay updated on the campaign outside of reading my updates, you can get current updates at Child Hunger Ends Here, the Facebook Fan Page or on Twitter. There are several bloggers participating in this campaign and you can follow everyone with this Twitter List. We will be using the hash tag #fightchildhunger as we tweet (I lurve me some hash tags :).

It just takes one person to make a difference. You can even use a $.25 coupon to make an impact. That coupon, that dollar you donate, that effort YOU take can help someone have a different outlook on their day. YOU can make that difference…especially to a child.
