Come to Rock A Buy Resale and surrounding stores this Saturday October 27, 2012 12pm-2pm for a Halloween Monster Mash Bash in Monroe! Businesses will have trick-or-treating for the kids and Rock A Buy will be sponsoring a costume contest. Contest age groups 0-2yr, 3-5yr, and 6yr & up, plus expectant moms have their own category. Photos will be taken and finalists will be posted on Facebook for voting. The winners will receive a basket full of candy and a gift certificate to Rock A Buy!

Come by the Northside Farmer’s Market this Wednesday October 24, 2012 at 6pm to see the Wump Mucket Puppets. Market hours are 4pm-7pm. I have shopped at this market for over 10 years and think it’s one of the best in the city!
The market has moved indoor for the Winter. It is located at North Presbyterian Church at 4222 Hamilton Ave. in Northside. Park and enter in the rear of the building.

Cincinnati Museum Center: Latin American Culture Fest Saturday & Sunday 12pm-5pm
Come to the Rotunda of the Cincinnati Museum Center this Saturday for a taste of the Latin Culture. Browse and shop for authentic Latin American goods while taking in baroca art from Cuban artists. Enjoy performances on the world stage and workshops on Carding an Alpaca and The History, Geography, Culture, Music and Art of Cuba.
Entrance to the Museum Center Rotunda is Free and open to the public. Parking is $6.
Duke Energy Center: Books by the Banks Saturday 10am-4pm
Books by the Banks will have lots of fun for the whole family. Kids are welcome. There will be tons to delight little ones in Kids Corner, including author presentations, storytimes, arts & crafts, meet n’ greets with characters and music by Zak Morgan! The event is Free and open to the public.
Blue Ash Nature Park: Halloween Walk in the Woods Saturday 12pm-2pm
Come to the Blue Ash Nature Park for a Walk in the Woods that will feature trick-or-treating with Mother Goose’s friends. There will be a Magic Show and Crafts. The event is Free and open to the public, but is geared toward children 10yo and under.
Washington Park: Kids Fall Fest Saturday 2pm-4pm
At the south end of the Washington Park this Saturday 2pm-4pm you will find lots of fun, including Balloon Animals and Stilt Walkers, Madcap Puppets, Cincinnati Zoo’s “Wildlife Comes To You” Program, a Pumpkin Patch and Games & Prizes. This event is Free and open to the public!
Washington Park: Family Fright Night Movies 7pm-11pm
This week’s movies in the park are Beetlejuice at 7pm and Jaws at 9pm. These movies are Free and open to the public. Bring chairs, blankets, jackets and picnic baskets.

I covered the Kids Fall Fest in Washington Park last week on the Cincinnati Free Weekend Events roundup, but the fun continues the last two Saturdays 2pm-4pm of October as well. Next week is National Chemistry Week, in celebration the Cincinnati Chapter of the American Chemical Society is hosting Free Chemistry Demonstrations around town. Most of the demonstrations will take place in libraries all over the tri-state October 17-27, 2012. The Cincinnati Museum Center will host demonstrations all day in the Rotunda October 26 & 27.
The Free Demonstrations will feature Nanotechnology – the smallest big idea in science! I know my kids are going to love this…almost as much as my chemist husband!
