Menu Plan Monday | July 11

There is a common theme in this weeks meals.  Many are being made with items I have purchased in the reduced areas of the stores I shop.  Reduced meat is a great way to save.  Sometimes I put it straight into the freezer after I shop and other times I cook it before freezing.  Do shop the reduced areas too?

Here’s what we’re having for dinner this week. What’s on your plan?

Monday: Hamburgers, Homemade French Fries & Roasted Cauliflower

My family could live on Burgers, Pizza and Tacos and be happy! Finding ground beef reduced to $1.79/lb at Jungle Jim’s makes me happy.  Potato wedges sprinkled with paprika, salt and pepper then roasted in the oven go great with burgers.

Tuesday: Pepper Steak with Brown Rice

I’m using Round Steak instead of Sirloin Steak because it was what I found reduced of course.  I also have a whole bag of bell peppers from the reduced area at Jungle Jim’s.  This is the meal that I am most looking forward to this week!

Wednesday: P.F. Chang’s for Free Lettuce Wraps

My boys were invited for a sleepover with their cousins on Wednesday night.  Thanks Bill & Em!! That means date night for my hubby and I.  We’re going to P.F. Chang’s for Free Lettuce Wraps.  Did you print your coupon yet?

Thursday: Spaghetti with Italian Sausage

I found ground Italian sausage reduced at Meijer last week.  I’m going to cook one package up, use part of it for our spaghetti sauce and put the rest in the freezer for a future meal.  Do you “hide” veggies in spaghetti sauce?  I’m do!  I helps get more veggies in my kids.

Friday: Homemade Pizza

Week #3 for this one!  I asked my family if they were getting tired of pizza while we were eating it last week.  Everyone answered “How could we get tired of pizza?”  Do you make pizza at home?

Saturday: Homecoming Party

My cousin is home for good from several years in the military.  We’re going to spend the evening with family to welcome him home and thank him for all he has done!

Sunday: Vegetable Pasta

The zucchini is my garden is growing beautifully this year. That means that the  pile of zucchini on my kitchen counter is growing too!  I’m going to saute some with fresh basil (also from the garden) and other veggies to have with pasta.
