Menu Plan Monday | February 21st *Kids Edition*

I’m taking the week off from menu planning this week.  We still have a plan … but it wasn’t me who is made it!  I recently mentioned to my kids that they should plan our meals.  In efforts to avoid fast food and french fries for every meal I gave them a list of main ingredients that we have on hand.  From there this is what they came up with … with a little help.

Hello, this is Zack. While Mom was joking about this, my brothers and I thought it would be an awesome idea! And then tonight, after we were done with dinner, we planned this out. Hope you like it!!

Monday: Noodles & Company

This was mom’s suggestion.  With LOTS of Mac & Cheese in our stockpile, we couldn’t pass up the chance for dinner at Noodles & Company.  Our mac & cheese will be donated to a local food bank and we get to enjoy one of Noodles & Company’s 4 new mac & cheese bowls for Free!

Tuesday: Tacos

This was actually the first thing we thought of.  Logan, Dylan and I really, really like Mexican food.  Mom was happy because we actually could agree on something!!

Wednesday: Stuffed Baked Potatoes

This was my pick because these are awesome with bacon, cheese, and sour cream.  I don’t like it when mom makes me eat broccoli though.

Thursday: Rice a Roni with Ground Beef

Mom had ground beef already cooked in the freezer and a box of Rice a Roni in the cabinet.  Put together with some frozen peas and dinner is done in one pan.

Friday: Chuck Roast, Carrots & Potatoes

We were going to have this last week but that changed when there were enough leftovers in the fridge for us all.  Mom hates to waste food.

Saturday: Chocolate Chip Pancakes and Cinnamon Apples

Logan here: Pancakes was my pick. I love cinnamon apples and making smile faces on the pancakes with chocolate chips.

Sunday: Marinated Flank Steak, Baked Potatoes, Asparagus & Pecan Pie
*Recipe coming next week

This was Dad’s pick because Sunday is his 49th birthday. Happy birthday, Old Man! LOL!

Peace Out ~ Zack

Now that the kids planned this week’s meals,  I’m also going to have them involved in preparing each meal too.  It should be an interesting week!

If you menu plan,do you do it on a weekly or monthly basis?
