Giveaway: Old West Festival 4-Pack of Tickets

Take a step back in time to experience life in the Old West! The 4th Annual Old West Festival rolls into town on weekends starting 9/10/11 through 10/9/2011.

The permanent old west town is located 15 from I-275 East of Cincinnati.  It features Antique, Western-themed and hand-made craft store fronts. During the festival, you can pose for a picture and chat a bit with period interpreters.  Enjoy food and beverages at the Long Branch Saloon. Kids of all ages can enjoy puppet shows, sing-a-longs and panning for gold.  Take a ride in a covered wagon, on a pony or horse or even on a steam locomotive.

Live entertainment of all kinds will be going on all around town.  See medicine shows, saloon shows, magic shows.  There will be storytelling and gun fight reenactments by the Big Iron Rangers. Check the schedule of events before you go!

The Old West Festival’s hours will be from 10am-6pm Saturdays and Sundays from 9/10/2011-10/9/2011.  Tickets are $10 per adult, $6 for kids 6-12 and kids 5 & under are free. Parking is Free!

I actually saw the sign for this a few years back when I went to visit my Ex in Mt Orab. It sounded like it’d be fun (compared to the Ren Faire which hasn’t changed in 20 yrs). So hopefully I’ll win these tickets. Has anyone been before who can tell us more?

Last year when this was available I really wanted to go, but being about 7 months pregnant and having a 9 month old, I was just TOO tired! But this year, I really really want to go. I think the whole family would enjoy it, especially Mommy and Daddy, who don’t get out much!

The other day my friend’s 7 year old son literally asked her if when we were kids, it was like the Old West outside?! I can’t think of a better reason to go experience the Old West as it really was…as opposed to how it was about 30 years ago! :)

I really want to go simply for the opportunity of being able to let loose and act like a cowboy for once. I also can’t wait to see my friend’s attempt to be cowboys.

My family and I are looking forward to our first Old West Festival. I am especially looking forward to taking my father, who has been an old school western fan his whole life.
