Are you interested in developing a garden at your local school? Come out to a Free Schoolyard Garden Development Training this Saturday September 29, 2012 at North Avondale Montessori in Cincinnati 9am-4pm hosted by the Civic Garden Center.
The School Garden Development Training will focus on planning a successful and sustainable school garden project. The workshop will also include a cooking demo, free lunch, hands-on activities and the how-to’s of compost.
My daughter’s school has an extensive garden. The students work in the gardens, harvest the food and it is used in school lunches each week. I think it’s an amazing lesson that will hopefully impact these children for life. What a great opportunity the Civic Garden Center is hosting so programs like these can be spread across the Tristate!
