Citrus Soy Marinade Recipe

A few weeks ago Andrea posted the freezing meats in marinades vlog.  I love, love, love doing this too! Having meat already in a marinade in the freezer makes dinner one step easier.  Plus it means that the meat marinades for a good long time.

I wanted to share my absolute favorite marinade recipe with you.  A friend of a friend prepared it at cookout I was at years ago.  Luckily he was willing to share his recipe.

Citrus Soy Marinade

  • 2 oranges (juiced)
  • 1 lime (juiced)
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1-2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1.5 tbsp minced ginger
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 bunch cilantro – chopped
  • 3 green onions chopped
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp chili sauce1
  • 1 tsp basil
  • salt to taste

Mix all ingredients together and pour over meat.  It’s very good on chicken.  My first choice though is salmon.  Finding salmon reduced to $4.50/pound makes it even better.
