Free Cincinnati Weekend Events April 27-29

Final Friday at The Emery Theater 6pm-late

The Emery Theater in Over-the-Rhine is opening it's doors tonight at 6pm welcoming attendees to wander the halls to experience the visual exhibits of photographers and artists. There will also be musicians and bands performing live concerts starting at 8pm. This promises to be a fun event experienced in a historic setting!

Admission is Free!

Model Train Show at Twin Towers 10am-8pm

A model train show presented by Greater Cincinnati Modular Railroad Association is free and open to the public at Twin Towers retirement community in College Hill.

I had the privilege of seeing the train display while visiting Twin Towers with my son's school today. The display was intricate and the children loved seeing all the details. There is a scavenger hunt posted on the back wall of the display. Children enjoy looking for the hidden items throughout the display!

Marvel Avengers Assemble at Kenwood Towne Center Disney Store

Come to the Disney Store dressed as your favorite Avenger! Junior Avengers will receive training and orientation this Saturday. Choose from one of three session times: 10:30am, 11:30am and 12:30pm.
Minimum age for participation is 3 years. Event limited per session based on store capacity. No line-ups prior to 30 minutes before event begins.

Lowe's Build & Grow: Terrarium 10am

Kids can build their own Terrarium at the Lowe's Build & Grow Clinic this Saturday. All project materials plus an apron, goggles, a project themed patch and a certificate of merit will be Free for each participant. Register online to reserve your spot!

Fabric Stamp Event at Michael's at Bridgewater Falls 1pm-2pm

Kids can style unique custom designs with fabric stamps.  Ages 3 and up.  While supplies last.

Winton Woods Birding Fest 8am-4pm

Come on out to Winton Woods to do some birding anytime 8am-4pm. You can come for an hour or you can stay all day. Learn to identify birds, do a bird count and visit a bird banding station to see live birds up close. Beginners and experts welcome. At 3:30pm participate in a tally of all the birds seen.

Event is free. Hamilton County Parks parking pass is required.

Farbach-Werner Nature Preserve Painted Pots Week 11am-4pm

Come help decorate clay pots to be hung in the trees for Farbach Warner's Blooming Fun Weekend on May 5 and 6. There is no charge if you leave your pot at the park to be used for display, but there will be a fee if you take it home.

Event is free. Hamilton County Parks parking pass is required.

Montgomery Safety Awareness Day 11am-2pm

The Montgomery Safety Awareness Day will spotlight the Montgomery Police and Fire Departments. Tour the City’s police and fire apparatus, along with a SWAT van and other vehicles. Demonstrations, booths and activities will be available for all ages. Children will enjoy the balloons, face painting and a fire hose demonstration.

A basket drawing will be held with free food and refreshments. Event is free to the public.

El Dia Festival, Boone County Public Library 2:30pm-4pm

Multicultural story time, crafts and Un Mundo, One World music with David Kisor. Appearances by Tales the library dragon and Dora the Explorer 2:30-4 p.m. Face painting available. Each family receives a free children's book (while supplies last).

Winton Woods Great Oaks Unguided Hike 1pm-4pm

Gather at the Great Oaks Trail to meet the naturalist to get the scoop on the forest. Then, venture your way through this second growth forest to discover nature’s “spring beauties.” This hike promises to be a learning experience and a fun way to get exercise!

Event is free. Hamilton County Parks parking pass is required.
