The Great Outdoor Weekend gives you and your family over 120 opportunities throughout the Tristate to enjoy the outdoors. Everything from the Boone County Arboretum, the Cincinnati Nature Center, Imago and all kinds of other great attractions are included. Come to Downtown Cincinnati this weekend to get in touch with your German side starting on Friday at Fountain Square only, then expanding along 6 blocks of 5th St from Vine St to Sentinel on Saturday and Sunday. Oktoberfest Zinzinnati features seven stages showcasing continuous live German music and more than 30 food vendors serving almost 200 dishes.
Entrance to the festival is Free. Park for only $5 on Friday after 4pm, $5 on Saturday, and $10 on Sunday (up to 8 hours for one flat rate) in the Fountain Square Garage. Festival hours are Friday 12pm-12am, Saturday 11am-12am, Sunday 11am-10pm.
Deerfield Township is showing the last in their Free Summer movie series tonight at Cottell Park. The movie will start at dark. Be sure to wear long pants, bring your jacket, chairs and a blanket. It may be chilly! The movie shown will be Pirates! Band of Misfits. It is rated PG.

At Benken’s in Blue Ash this Saturday Mark Armstrong will discuss the best plant selections for deer ridden neighborhoods. The discussion will also include products that can be used to protect your landscaping plants and their effectiveness.

Kids can build their own Fire Truck at the Lowe’s Build & Grow Clinic this Saturday. All project materials plus an apron, goggles, a project themed patch and a certificate of merit will be Free for each participant. Register online to reserve your spot!
Washington Park is hosting another Date Night movie this Saturday at 8:30pm. The big reveal is that they will be showing The Hunger Games….for FREE! Wear warmer clothes and bring blankets because it may get chilly. This will be a great movie to see outside!
The Taft Museum will be hosting it’s second in their Free Fall Jazz Series this Sunday at 2:30pm. Come to hear the music of the Royal Palm Orchestra.
Dr. Paul Sanders will discuss and demonstrate several Civil War songs, the common themes and characteristics shared by these songs. Be prepared to sing along. Reception follows. The event is Free and open to the public.
