Glier’s Goettafest at Riverboat Row

Come on down to Riverboat Row in Newport this weekend to enjoy everything goetta! All are welcome, lifelong goetta-lovers and newbies alike! Each year there are new creations and culinary adventures, such as, goetta reubens and Papa John’s goetta pizza. It’s a fun time that includes tantalizing your taste buds and lots of smiles and laughter!

Entrance to the event is Free. Event hours: Friday 5pm-11pm, Saturday 12pm-11pm, Sunday 12pm-9pm.

Friday

First Friday Bellevue 4pm-8pm

Come down to Bellevue Place Fountain Court for First Friday Bellevue for a complimentary art walk event featuring  juried local artists, live entertainment and specials from the participating Bellevue Place stores and restaurants. This month’s artists display mixed media, painting and ceramic sculpture. This month’s entertainment is provided by Brian Ellefson.

Washington Park One Night Only: A Performance Unlike Any Other 7:30pm-10pm

This concert features a rare joint performance by several popular Cincinnati arts companies. The full Cincinnati Pops Orchestra will be conducted by John Russell Morris in a program of classical, Broadway and pop music and will be joined by the May Festival Chorus, soloists from Cincinnati Opera and featured dancers from Cincinnati Ballet. Wow! What a night!

Saturday

Home Depot: Kids Workshop 9am-12pm

Kids ages 5-12 will learn to  build their very own cork bulletin board while learning tool safety at Home Depot this Saturday. Kids can paint and add embellishments to their projects while at the workshop. This month has an added bonus thanks to the EPA’s Energy Star & Dr. Suess’s The Lorax movie. Each Kids Workshop will provide kids with Lorax activity sheets, Lorax create-you-own mustache kits, and Lorax sticker sheets. Each store will have one life-sized Lorax poster to affix to a wall so kids can have their picture taken with The Lorax.

All kids get to keep their craft and receive a Free Kids Workshop Apron, commemorative pin and certificate of achievement. Safety goggles and tools will be provided.

Taste of Crescent Springs 5:30pm-after dusk

Come over to Crescent Springs Community Park for a “Taste of Crescent Springs.” There will be inexpensive food booths, game booths, a bouncy house and smash-a-car. Get your picture taken with the Mater truck. Raffle items from Crescent Springs businesses will be available. Live music will be performed by The Skin Tones 6pm-9pm. the evening will end with a Free showing of the movie Cars 2 at dusk.

Eden Park Shakespeare in the Park 7pm-10pm

Come out for this awesome opportunity to see a Shakespeare play performed Free! The Tempest will be performed in Eden Park at Seasongood Pavilion this Saturday evening. Don’t miss this unique opportunity in a beautiful setting! I love Eden Park!

Sharon Woods Telling Tales at the Taft 12pm

Come enjoy this Free event at the Sharon Center at Sharon Woods this Sunday. Join a Taft Museum of Art representative for a humorous look at the animal life depicted in the Taft Museum of Art’s collections of paintings, porcelains and enamels. From fearsome dragons to playful puppy dogs, this presentation will place these creatures within their artistic contexts for animal lovers of all ages. Afterwards, stroll out to see the reproduction on display in the park with the docent.
