This weekend the temps are supposed to be lower and there are a lot of fun events around town. Get out, enjoy the weather and have fun!

All Weekend

Greater Anderson Days

Greater Anderson Days takes place at Beech Acres Park in Anderson Township. I’ve been to this event. It’s a blast! There are games, food, live music, rides, charitable gaming (including Bingo and Texas Hold’em), strolling Cincinnati Circus Company performers and more. On Friday and Saturday at 5pm come see the finalists of Anderson’s Got Talent and cast your vote on the best musician. Teens won’t want to miss the “Hang Out” on Friday and Saturday. All attendees will love the fireworks by Rozzi’s at 10pm on Sunday evening!

Parking is limited on Salem Rd. There is a Free shuttle from McNicholas High School. Festival hours: Friday 5pm-11pm, Saturday 5pm-11pm, Sunday 5pm-10pm.

Bellevue Arts Festival Weekend

Arts and crafts take center stage in Downtown Bellevue July 27-29, 2012, as the city welcomes artists from around the region and country to its premier annual arts extravaganza. There are three venues to visit, each with their own unique theme.

The Bellevue Arts Museum ArtsFair is in Downtown Bellevue at Bellevue Square exhibits the outstanding art of over 300 juried artists from the Northwest and throughout the country via an extensive range of mediums.
The Bellevue 6th Street Fair in Downtown Bellevue at the Bellevue Galleria displays the original work of more than 140 artists in an open-air showcase.
The Bellevue Festival of the Arts in Downtown Bellevue showcases a rich variety of arts and crafts, plus live music and food and drink.

There will be several street closings due to the event. Hours for the event: Friday & Saturday 10am-8pm, Sunday 10am-6pm. Arts Museum ArtsFair has extended hours until 9:30pm on Friday and Saturday.

Friday

Cambell County Public Library Art After Hours 7pm-9pm

The Fort Thomas Library will remain open until 9:00 p.m. to showcase the work of 16 local artists from Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati. The exhibit will feature a variety of media and each artist will be available to discuss their art. McHale’s Catering & Events will provide an assortment of appetizers for the event. Wine samples will be available for $1.00 from Stonebrook Winery. All proceeds will be donated back to the Library.

Pendleton Art Center Final Friday Gallery Walk 6pm-10pm

Come Downtown for the unique experience of walking through the galleries of local artists. I’ve done this on a number of occasions and it’s always a delight. Some of the artists are kind enough to serve cheese, crackers, fruit and wine. The gallery is Free and open to the public for Final Fridays.

Saturday

Cincinnati Ballet National Dance Dance | Free Classes 9am-12pm

Join the Cincinnati Ballet for So You Think You Can Dance’s National Dance Day! Cincinnati Ballet is pleased to serve as the local venue for the second-annual National Dance Day. Dance fans of all skill levels are invited to participate!

Adults ages 18 and up are invited to participate. At the Blue Ash location a Rhythm & Motion class will take place 9am-10am. At the Downtown location an Adult Beginner Ballet will run 9am-10:30am and a Rhythm and Motion class (featuring choreography from the hit TV show So You Think You Can Dance!) will be at 11am-12pm.

Lowe’s Build & Grow Clinic: Kung Fu Panda Stacking Friends 10am

Kids can build their own Kung Fu Panda Stacking Friends craft at the Lowe’s Build & Grow Clinic this Saturday. All project materials plus an apron, goggles, a project themed patch and a certificate of merit will be Free for each participant. Register online to reserve your spot!

Sunday

Washington Park Official Leash Cutting Ceremony 11am-3pm

This event will be held in Washington Park’s brand new Dog Park! Vice Mayor Roxanne Qualls and Councilman Chris Seelbach will be on hand to kick off the days festivities, which will include:

  • Dog License registration with Hamilton County “Dusty’s Dogs” program.
  • Free rabies shots to the first 50 dogs registered by House Vets for House Pets (mobile vet services)
  • Free nail trims to the first 25 dogs registered by Red Dog Pet Resort.
  • UCAN will raffle a free spay/neuter for those signing up for their services.
  • Recycled Doggies are bringing pups available for adoption.
  • The Wild Mountain Berries will perform live in the gazebo for a free concert from 12:00-2:00.
