Camp Carnegie Summer Theater Workshops ~ $10!

Summer Break is coming fast!  Faster than some of us moms may want but it’s gonna be here soon.  Have you thought about Summer plans for your kiddos yet?  I’ve looked into some camps for mine but camps (day or overnight) can be super expensive!  And then I heard about this one …. I just may be making the drive to Northern Kentucky for this one with my middle son!

The Camp Carnegie Summer Theater Workshops have so much to offer kids!  Team building, hands-on art making, character building, problem solving are just a few things participants will learn.  This year’s theme is “Adventures of an Underdog.”  Students will learn an important lesson in overcoming struggles while working on a theater production.

Camp Carnegie is open to children ages 7-15.  There are five sessions to choose from with two in each June, July and one August.  Sessions in June and July meet twice a week for 3 consecutive weeks. The August session meets Monday,Tuesday & Wednesday for 2 consecutive weeks. Times are 1-5 pm on all days.  All sessions end with a live performance on the last day.  The camp is held at the Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center in Covington, Ky.

Here’s the part that seems too good to be true (it’s not …. just seems that way!) The cost for this program is just a $10 deposit per session.  The $10 will be refunded with perfect attendance.  That makes it Free!  And they even provide a snack at each session.  You may register for one session per month and registration is on a first come first serve basis.

My middle son has been practicing one day a week most of the school year for his stage debut in the school play.  He’s had so much fun that I know he is going to love the idea of Camp Carnegie Summer Theater.  I know that he will learn a lot more than he would guess!
