Candled Cane Glass Decoration

Unique and original ways to display everyday holiday decorations are hard to find and CRAZY expensive when I do. A melted candle dripped all over an old mug made a perfect candy can holder to set out for a bunko night I was hosting.

Candled Cane Glass Decoration Supplies

:: Old Candle
:: Saucepan
:: Water
:: Aluminum can
:: Knife
:: Glassware
:: Newspaper

DIY Steps

{Step 1} Cover work area with newspaper…things are about to get messy!

{Step 2} Cut up the candle and place the chunks in the aluminum can.

{Step 3} Bring water to a boil in a saucepan.

{Step 4} Place aluminum can in the pan until melted. The boiling water should go up to about half of the can.

{Step 5} Caution!! The can could be hot. Gently pour the melted wax over the glassware while rotating it slowly. It comes out quick…a little goes a long way.

{Step 6} It should harden quickly, but let the glass set for at least 30 minutes until placing it around the house.

Project Cost

Nothing! I had an old candle and unused mug around the house so I just used what I had on hand.
