Recycle Your Spray Bottles Instead of Buying Squirt Guns

The following Everyday Savings Tip comes from, Carrie:

We've stopped buying squirt guns for our kids. They break too easily, they're too hard to fill, and they can be hard for little fingers to coordinate pulling the triggers. However, my kids love wet play on a hot day.

So instead of purchasing squirt guns we recycle our empty spray bottles (from household cleaners, etc.). We just make sure we wash them extremely well. Sometimes we will buy very inexpensive spray bottles at the dollar store. They hold LOTS more water than a squirt gun, are easy to fill up, and are much easier for little ones to spray. On most of them you can control whether the kids are just misting one another or actually spraying by adjusting the nozzle.

It's a great way to use what you already have for fun summer play for your kids
