Blissdom09 Memories and Pictures

Whew – I am just now coming down from the cloud of giddiness and hugs that was Blissdom09! You all know that I'm not a hugger, but I turned into one over the weekend. I mean, what else do you do with someone who is practically like your sister – only you've never heard their voice, or even seen their face before in real life. Some bloggers have cartoon avatars so I had no idea what they even looked like!

Let me just put it out there now. I chauffeured some misfits classy ladies. They were the most fun during the 4.5 hour drive (each way)! I don't think there was any silence going down, but I kinda expected that since we all chat with each other typing a hundred miles a minute – our actual mouths/speech was moderate compared. They forever corrupted influenced me. Or, maybe I did a little of that to them. Tell your husbands' I'm reaalllly sorry and I hope we can still play together :-)

I started embedding a gazillion pictures, but I'll just share two. I don't want to leave out any of the the amazing people I photographed. I love them all equally! And, there were so many that I didn't take pictures with and I really wanted to. That will have to wait until next year, or until Alli (our fab Blissdom co-host) can photoshop my head in somewhere. She's got mad skillz like that :-)

A huge group of women talking each other's ears off with laptops open. We can multi-task like nobody's bidness.

A group of 6 crazy bloggy friends who had the best dang driver money can buy. Which, coincidentally was me and my services were FREE since I am a frugal blogger and all. We had some great discussions and started amazing friendships in 10 hours driving time!

One of the funniest moments was when Erin met her stalker biggest fan. I only wish I had my camera out for it! Who knew feeding someone's family on $5 a night would warrant that! I'm currently seeking applicants to fill the position of mine since Erin has officially “made” it! I have agreed to be Amy and Emily's stalker so my hands are kinda full. Well, except for maybe Chris Mann, our amazing entertainment (I can't wait for his CD to come out already! He is amazingly talented – his voice and style is like the white version of John Legend). I can possibly fit that in to my daily twitter routine :-)

I will be sharing some amazing information I learned from the speakers later today or tomorrow! Until then, be amused and bedazzled at all my photos from the weekend here (expired). All of them are way more big time than Vanilla Ice {ice. baby … too cold, too cold}.

My first stalker. I finally feel like I *am* somebody now.

I apologize for all the hugging on you that I did- it felt so good to hug one of my favorite blogging friends. You were just as I had imagined, but even cooler!

I hope you will be at BlogHer- we will have so much fun!!

Nice post, great pics. Had no idea you weren’t a hugger. Am pretty sure I hugged you the second you stepped into the restaurant. Now, Marcy, she’s no hugger either. I realized that the second I gave her a big hug and she wanted no part of me! :)

  • mom_of2boys - February 10, 2009 @ 5:32 pm

Great pics. Glad y’all had a good time. I wish I could have found a way to go – sounds like it would have been a memorable weekend.

  • Marcy - February 10, 2009 @ 6:45 pm

Yes Erin, you are correct…hugging does not come easily to me at first. But now that I know all of you better I’ll be a little freer with my hugs next time. LOL!!

LOVE my expression in the first picture btw. What was I doing??

Andrea – thanks so much for being our chauffeur. Next time I’ll be taking some Dramamine so that you can have different company in the front seat!

  • Andrea @ Mommy - February 10, 2009 @ 7:17 pm

@Rachel – YES, please do!!!! Jenny has several great pics of you two. She has a great bod too so I would totally love my head to go on her :-)

    @Baldscreen – thanks! It was a blast!!

    @Cortney – I am to please…mostly you though!! LOL

@Tricia – I really wanted to caption our *leg* picture must different but I refrained. You girls are HOT!!

@Amy – I am so thankful that I got to meet you! You are a gem and I stand behind what I said about being first in line!!

@Erin – well, I had to hug you! We did hug immediately too.

@Momof2boys – you should try to come to it next year! It was a blast!!!

@Marcy – Tricia is looking to get dramamine to sponsor her next year so maybe you look into that too :-)

Loved your summary! I tried to keep mine short. I really, really tried. And…. I horribly failed. Not by just a little, but seriously…. by a lot! And, I know I missed out on so many memories… :).

It was fun to meet you and enjoy the blissful weekend with you!

  • [email protected] - February 10, 2009 @ 7:26 pm

Oh, goodness, that biggest fan was probably ME making a fool out of myself!

I just didn’t want to leave the conference without meeting all my money saving Twitter friends. It was kind of overwhelming to see so many familiar but strange faces and make sure we met them all, wasn’t it?

  • BrandyEllen - February 10, 2009 @ 8:38 pm

I am having so much fun {and lotsa envy} reading about BlissDom09 sounds like you all had a blasts! I am so glad you could drive there!

I could drive 16 hours to BlogHer and hubby told me he would BUT if I can’t pay the way it’s pointless!

I am so glad you shared pics and story!

  • Emily from Mommin It Up - February 10, 2009 @ 9:39 pm

Yay, I am SO EXCITED to have such a HAWT stalker!!!

  • Andrea @ Mommy - February 12, 2009 @ 4:13 am

@Jyl – your recap was amazing! It was so nice meeting you!!

@Meredith – NO WAY!! I think Tricia was giddy over meeting you, seriously! We all were. That’s what made it so fun! It was very overwhelming which is why I think I’m still talking about everyone!!

@BrandyEllen – look for some sponsors for BlogHer! Companies are ready to sponsor energetic bloggers!!

@Em – Please don’t get a protection order against me anytime soon. That would pose a conflict for our meet-up this month ;)

@Jenny – I know I did stalk you at Evenflo girl! That was sooo funny! I’m so glad God had us meet and be friends!!! He’s cool like that!!
