As we just passed the two busiest shopping days of the year online, a lot of people asked how to get Amazon lightning deals. While there isn’t one surefire way to do it, here are a few tips that I’ve found have helped me over the years.
This seems so minor, but have you ever been in a hurry to checkout and have to go through what seems like 5 million hoops in order to checkout? That’s happened to me on a few retail sites (not Amazon, actually) and when I’m ready to hit pay, it returns that the deal is sold out. So frustrating! Be logged in and ready to go!
Amazon has the main Gold Box and Lightning deals page HERE. In order to find the product specific items quickly for a lightning deal, you simply change the category. And you sit and wait.
Alternately, you can also find some lightning deals on category specific pages. A few popular ones include:
As soon as you see that there is a lightning deal that you will want, set a reminder for 5 minutes before the deal is live so you can be waiting on the page when it goes live. The lightning deals are limited in both and quantity so you will want to act fast. Being prepared and being on the page will help.
So you have the item, you need to checkout fast. You have 15 minutes to pay from the time you added any lightning deals to your cart. This does give you some additional time to find other items to add to your cart to meet the $30 minimum for Free Super Saver Shipping.
Actually, I would have those other items in the cart waiting so you can checkout immediately. Or, better yet, just join Amazon Prime with this Free Trial and forget the minimums (and get Free 2-day shipping).
If you happen to miss the deal, and still want the item, definitely join the waitlist! This is available when all of the available discounts for the deal are in other customers’ carts but they haven’t purchased said items yet. If the sales aren’t completed in 15 minutes, the discounted price is made available for the next customer on the waitlist.
