DIY Modern Copper Christmas Tree

I am always looking around for new and innovative ways to spice up the holidays without spending a ton of extra dough. I so could not resist trying this modern twist on the standard Christmas tree.

Modern Copper Christmas Tree Supplies

:: Styrophom Cone
:: Wire Cutters
:: Solid 6 Gauge Copper Wire (I used 8ft for these 2 trees)

DIY Steps

{Step 1} Wrap the copper tightly around the cone from the bottom up.

{Step 2} Use the wire cutters to trim off any extra and bend the ends as needed.

Project Cost

I was able to buy the styrofoam cone for $1.99 at my local craft store with my 40% off one item coupon.

I purchased the copper was from the local hardware store for $.97 a foot or $7.96 total. I purchased 8ft to be sure that I had plenty for 2 trees.

Basically, I spent about $10 to make these really cool copper Christmas trees to display on my mantle.  Not only are they really inexpensive but a really easy project to create your own holiday decor.
