Instead of buying overpriced carpet stain removers, I use clear glass cleaner. It pulls kids spills right out of our cream carpet with no problem. Just make sure it's not the BLUE glass cleaner.

Another (amazing) use for glass cleaner — while on vacation I had a ring get stuck on my finger and I was a bit frantic that my hand had puffed up and the ring was really constricting my finger. I went to a jewelry store, intending to ask them to carefully cut the ring off, but the sales girl said hang on, let’s try my windex, it usually works. She sprayed it all over the ring and my hand and then slowly wiggled that ring right off my finger. It’s a tip I will never forget!
