Stock Up on Frozen Vegetables

The following Everyday Savings Tip comes from, Lisa:

I stock up on frozen onions and green peppers. After a long day at work just the thought of having to chop an onion and/or pepper for a recipe can send me right to the drive-thru instead. Having these ingredients ready to go saves me money and it is healthier as well!!

  1. I prefer the frozen veggies cooking for 1 i can use just what i am going to eat and not have leftovers or waste i think they taste much better didnt think about the onion and peppers pre diced I muxst put that on my list. Being disabled and have leg issues standing sometimes is just unbearable i have added a stllo in my kitchen so i can sit and chop but if they are just as good as fresh i have to add it or at least have some for the bad days . Thank you for the insight sometimes we get so busy and loook right past something right in front of your nose

    1. Vicki, I prefer the frozen as well. Or, I’ll get fresh when it’s on sale and chop/freeze for convenience. If I don’t do it, the veggies usually go bad before we have time to use them all!

      1. We added bell peppers to our garden this year for this very reason. When it came time to harvest, we just rinsed, sliced, put into gallon sized freezer bags, and away to the deep freeze they went. Now we have plenty for recipes, pizzas, you name it! Frozen veggies are a great time and money saver!
