If you went shopping at Rite Aid yesterday you may have noticed a change in the way you received your Up Rewards. Rite Aid has been testing a program in several locations over the past several months and has decided to go nationwide with it as of yesterday. The new program is Load2Card and there are some positive and negative issues with this new program.
Here’s how it all will work:
You will still shop as you normally do at Rite Aid. Up Rewards will still be the main reward program that the store offers. However, the change comes at the register.
Typically you scan your Wellness Card, complete your transaction, then any applicable Up Rewards will print at the end of your reciept and will be able to be used immediately.
Not so any more.
The two biggest changes of this program are that 1) Your rewards will automatically be loaded onto your Wellness Card instead of printed at the bottom of the receipt, and 2)the rewards will not be able to be used until 6 am the following day.
If you still really want those rewards printed in paper form, you can request in store for this to occur, however, the rewards still will not be able to be used until the next day.
Another change is that Up Rewards loaded to your card will now come off of your total before any other coupons are scanned. They will be redeemed in the order of highest value first. You can manage your rewards online or via the smartphone app to toggle this a bit if you’d like to save your rewards for a bigger trip rather than just a quick trip for milk.
