New Walgreens Rewards Program: Balance Rewards

Walgreens is rolling out a new rewards program called Balance Rewards. You can enroll online for this program beginning September 2 September 6, or you can enroll in the store beginning September 16.

This new program rewards you with making healthy choices and purchases over time. You can begin instantly earning and redeeming once you are enrolled.

Some highlights of the new program:

  • You earn rewards for more than just in store purchases. Getting your immunizations or participating in Walk with Walgreens will also earn rewards.
  • The rewards last a long time – no two week turn around like current rewards! Rewards do not expire as long as members remain active shopping at Walgreens (at least once every six months) and redeem their points within three years.
  • You can earn points both in store AND online.
  • There is an exclusive benefit for AARP members.

And I’m sure you’re wondering about Register Rewards. As it stands now, you can use this new rewards program along with current Register Reward promotions.

As far as how the points stack up in comparison to rewards – this is the current layout:

Points Earned Reward
5,000 $5
10,000 $10
18,000 $20
30,000 $35
40,000 $50

We will certainly keep you up to date with all information we have about this new program! Please let us know if you have any questions.

At my local Walgreens, one of the cashiers was bragging that the Register Rewards will now end and she said it for my benefit since I usually only buy items that offers Register Rewards. It is shame cashiers lose sight that they are there working for the customer and should maintain a professional attitude at all times. If you don’t like people saving money and using coupons, get a different job.

Ruth, as of now we know the Register Rewards are continuing. But not sure for how long since I just can’t see Walgreens offering both. It is a shame that the cashiers aren’t professional at all times. Sorry you had that experience!
