DIY Homemade Bathroom Cleaner

The following Everyday Savings Tip comes from, Becky at Just a Little BS:

I save money by making my own cleaning products. For example, I recently made my own shower/bath cleaner. Here's how you can make your own.

  1. Heat 4 ounces of white distilled vinegar for 1 minute.
  2. Pour into a spray bottle.
  3. Add 3 ounces of Dawn dishwashing liquid and 2 ounces of water.
  4. Gentle shake to mix and voila!

I used it on my bathroom countertops, fiberglass tub, tile shower, and glass shower doors. I rinsed and let it air dry and no streaks! And super cheap! I have several other DIY cleaner recipes to try too!

  1. Why do you have to heat the vinegar? Do you have to use this warm everytime?

    1. Lori, you don’t need to heat this up each time before use. It may help heating it though to activate the grime and make it easier to clean up though.

  2. I used this recipe today and my fiberglass tub/shower looks awesome. Because the ingredients are harmless I just stood in the tub! Very good formula!!!!
