Easy Gift Idea: Family Movie Night

Here is an easy gift idea that everyone will love, especially the kids! This the perfect gift because you can give a movie along with snacks for a really cheap family night! I love experience gifts because it is one more toy laying around the house.

Movie Night Gift Supplies

:: Movie
:: Drink
:: Candy
:: Popcorn/Popcorn bucket
:: Ribbon
:: Scissors

DIY Steps

{Step 1} Fill the bucket with microwave popcorn, small snacks, kool-aid packets, etc

{Step 2} Place movie and movie candy underneath the popcorn bucket.

{Step 3} Secure it with a pretty ribbon and finish it with a bow.

Project Cost

You can find microwave popcorn, 3 ct, movie theater candy boxes for as little as $1 each. You could add miniature candy pieces when you find them on sale.  You could use leftover Easter and Halloween Candy, as well.

I found a giant spool of ribbon at the local craft store for only $1.99 after using my 40% off coupon.  Sometimes, you can find cute ribbon in the dollar bins as well.

You can find cute kids movies for only $5 at Walmart, Target and other discount stores.  You may want to consider picking up cheap movies as you find them.  I like to stock up on Black Friday at rock bottom prices!

You can easily have a nice gift for the whole family to enjoy for under $10 if you had to purchase all of the items.  Most of the time, I have the snack stuff on hand in my pantry.

    I’ve done this before as a teacher gift – the dollar store will often carry a big popcorn bucket that you can put your candy etc in. Instead of a movie, though, I include a blockbuster gift card (or I did until they all closed! :-). We have a ton of dvd’s so any you would buy for us would probably be a duplicate of one we already own.
