Use Cold Water for Laundry

The following Everyday Savings Tip comes from, Kim:

Ever since my mom suggested it, I use cold water as much as I can for much of my laundry. Usually hot water for undergarments and socks and grimy cloth wiping rags. I'll use warm water for sheets, towels and PJs. And I use cold water for everything else.

I use Tide Coldwater detergent. I figured at least $20-50, with little extra work. With our family of 8 children we need to save on laundry all we can.

I have used cold water on my laundry forever. In fact, I honestly don't remember the last time I used hot water. It gets it just as clean and kills what needs to be killed. It works for me too!
