Put an End to Impulse Purchases

The following Everyday Savings Tip comes from, Lydia:

After coming to the realization that I was spending way too much money on impulse purchases, I finally found a way to curb my need for instant gratification.

When I am out shopping and I come across something that I simply must have (even though it wasn't on my list), I pull out my phone & take a picture of it. Most times, this satisfies my “gotta have it NOW” urge. If, after a few days, I find myself still thinking about it, then I consider going back to make the purchase.

I would estimate that this technique has stopped 90% of my impulse purchases. It has also helped me to become a more saavy shopper and saved me hundreds, if not thousands of dollars since I started doing it one year ago.
