How to Get Craft Supplies for “Free”

The following Best Savings Tip comes from reader, Rachel:

Here's a few different things that I've found work out great for craft supplies for kids. And the best part is that they are free and help fuel my kid's imaginations by making them come up with things to do with them!

Paper Towel Rolls and Toilet Paper Rolls
My kids make shakers, telescopes, cut them up for scrap paper, etc.

Baby Food Jars
Countless ideas for these!

Wipes Containers

Water Bottles
Washed and sanitized.

Return Envelopes
My girls love to play “Postman.” I open all my junk mail and take out the return envelopes and keep all the envelopes from my bills I pay online. It only takes a few seconds to pull them out, and then the girls can use as many as they want! In a week's time, I usually add about 10 envelopes to the pile.

The easiest way I've found to collect and store all this stuff is to get a box and stick it in a convenient place. Every time we empty something, I just toss it in the box. When it's craft time, I pull the box down and let them at it!! Sometimes they just play with the stuff as is!
