The cashier at Meijer about went ballistic when my friend and I tried to use the coupons scenario for the Beggin’ Strips listed above. We had $1 off of the Beggin’ Strips and then the Buy 1 Beggin’ Strips, Get 1 Busy bone Free. I have always heard (and done before) that you can piggyback these types of coupons. The B1G1Free coupon in this case applies to the Busy Bone purchase and the $1.00/off applies to the Beggin’ Strips. She said we couldn’t do that. I was pretty sure we could and I know FOR SURE you can do it at Kroger but do you know if it “allowed” at Meijer? I kind of felt like a criminal or something the way she was acting – like we were trying to rip Meijer off, which we weren’t trying to do. Thanks for your help!
I have also had some really rude cashiers at meijer as well when using some of my coupons. It’s not like I am ripping them off personally! I can only assume they get tired of dealing with them all the time but it’s their job isn’t it? You can only hope for a nicer one next time. : )
It sounds like the cashier just wasn’t very educated on how the coupons work. I usually do one of two things in that situation: 1) Just ask them to take the items off my bill or 2)Line up the coupons physically on the product to show them that one is coming off of one product and the other for the different product. If that doesn’t work I typically will just let it go and try another time (unless I *really* want it and then I would ask for a manager). Sometimes you just have to pick your battles :-)
i’m kinda glad to hear that i’m not the only one that has problems with coupons and meijers, i dread upon going especially when i have to do more than one tranaction thru self check i can use expect to be there for 30-45 minutes just checking out!! i pick my battles whether or not is their sales good enough for the time and struggle!! Walmart is another ,at least one in hamilton!! thanks Amber and Andrea for all you do!!
I agree, Meijer really is rough w/ cpns at times. And they have 1 person working so many self check lanes!! They do run some awesome deals, though!
