#WinGiveaways | Lands End Backpack Giveaway! {Closed}

by Savings Lifestyle: Andrea on August 16, 2010

Photobucket

Caleb started Kindergarten last year with his Lands End backpack. It’s still like brand new. As a matter of fact, when we received this new backpack in the mail, the war ensued between T and Caleb as to who would get it! T could use a new backpack. And, Caleb, well he just likes all things new so he wanted it.

I think the colors got them, honestly. The bag we received is blue and gold, aka University of Michigan colors. I know, I know. We live in Ohio and our school’s colors are the same as the Wolverines. I thought there was a law preventing that? :) At any rate, it works for the boys to show their school pride…Lands End style!

So, with our dilemma, wanna know which of our boys got the backpack? Well, the video below will tell ya :)

I’m sorta sad to be starting a new phase with this lil’ booger. It seems like yesterday we were celebrating his first birthday. I’m definitely excited to see how many years it’ll take him through (and to have him be at school..and learn, yeah, learn of course)!

If you’re into social networking, you can follow Lands End on Twitter and Facebook!

Lands End is providing me (1) Backpack to give away. To enter in this giveaway, you have (4) forms of entry, which are:

Leave me a comment and share if you or your family reuses backpacks each year like we do. T really does need one, this is going on his third year of reusing his current bag. He *may* still get one this year, but if not he will get one next year (as he goes into middle school – I cannot believe I just typed THAT!).

We sometimes use bookbags but most time my kids are same they like to have new one but we will use the one from year before like switch back and fourth or they will use to go on sleepovers or just day out places we use them.

If there are not holes in it and the straps are still in tact, keep using the same bag! Although my son no longer needs a bookbag (he could carry one but, they search them every day at his school so its more of a pain that it is necessary) my Aunt has 4 young rough and tumble boys (ages 6, 7, 9 & 11) I would LOVE to be able to give her a high quality backpack that could withstand the abuse!

We love Lands End backpacks. I’ve let my kids get character ones for Kindergarten and reuse for 1st grade. Then in 2nd I’ve gotten them a Lands End with monogram. I love how well they last. My oldest didn’t get a Lands End one yet though and he’s starting middle school this year. Would love to win one for my 1st grader or 6th grader.

We definitely like to reuse backpacks, but most of ours have not made it through the school years. My oldest son, who is now a high school senior, has been able to use the same Jansport since eight grade. I would love to win a Land’s End backpack for him to use in the future! I have always been impressed with the Land’s End quality.

  • amy buckley - August 16, 2010 @ 12:49 pm

Definitely reuse! I have a Jansport that made it through one year of high school, four years of college and two years of graduate school. It is stil in good shape to this day! Quality is the key and I know Land’s End wil be quality!

Hello! Yes we reuse! We are trying to make do with less so we came up with a plan to decorate an old backpack with iron on appliques. I hope it works, I’ve never done this before. The appliques that she picked out are pink & girly and the back pack is blue with red trim…it should be interesting, if nothing else. She is just starting kindergarten, hopefully this backpack that will last several years. If we won the Lands end one, it would be a blessing! Thank you for having a backpack giveaway.
    Take care,
    Cathy

I had a pair of shorts I finally gave to Goodwill when I got married at age 23 that I had had since I was 13, and yes I still wore them lol. They were long shorts and they wern’t torn up at all.

I went through high-school and college with the same Land’s End backpack. I still use the same one with my children today. That is about 18 years of use and it is still in perfect condition!!! I would absolutely ask my children to use the same one year after year with that kind of quality. I am sending my son off to Kindergarten this year and would love to surprise him with a new Land’s End backpack that will serve him well for years. Thank you for considering me!

The one I am using is actually my wife’s, but I accidently left a dozen crayons in the back pack, and the back pack for a few days in a hot car…you get the picture. Normally, I have used our backpacks until they die of natural causes!

I have raised 4 girls, most of which are adults. Did I re-use backpacks, YES!! Now I have adopted a little girl and she is entering Kindergarten this fall. Will I reuse backpacks for her? YES! If its still in great shape, why not? If its not in that great of shape, we can always use another bag for her take along toys, for when she visits her big sisters. We also have a set of foster twins that we use back packs for their “visitation” bags. They can be used for so much more than “just” school :)

Our daughter can use the same backpack for preschool this year that she did for day care, but she’s only bringing home a few papers, so that doesn’t say much. But, I agree, when she’s in school I’d be willing to pay a bit more for a better, rugged one that will last us!

My daughter, just entering kindergarten, used a Land’s End preschool back pack for 2 1/2 years of preschool. It was light purple, so is a little dirty, but otherwise it is good as new. We did order her a bigger one for kindergarten and are getting her little brother a preschool sized (non purple!) one. Still I would love to win one, we’d probably put it aside for little brother’s kindergarten year!

I’m too frugal to buy a new backpack just because it’s a new school year. Reusing is frugal, efficient and better for the planet. We did, however, have to toss one bag because of a large quantity of mustard that we couldn’t clean out. :) Long story….

We’ve never reused a backpack. I really need to spend the money to get nice backpacks but with buying school supplies and clothes there’s just no money for it. Thanks for the giveaway!

My two daughters will be reusing their backpacks this year. One has a land’s end that is on its third and probably final year and my other has a Jansport that is on its second adn probably final year. My son had a spiderman backpack last year that barely survived til spring break so he needs a new one and I know I want to get a better quality one for him this year.

In these difficult economic times, in our family, “hand-me-downs” is a way of life.
Thanks for the opportunity to win a quality product with a long-life expectancy!
