I’ve never had braces. My teeth are pretty straight except for my fangs, as I call ‘em. My dentist suggested I get braces to fix them. My response was “Sorry Doc, but I’m {cough} 30 {cough} something {cough} and it’s just too late in life for me to get braces.” After that conversation, he suggested Invisalign to me.
Honestly, this would be the only brand I would consider. There is no messing with the many ortho visits, wax, rubberbands and all the other stuff my friends have done over the years. I just wouldn’t have time for that with everything else that needs done!
I really hope our boys get blessed with my “fairly” straight teeth genes. Luckily T has fairly straight teeth so far (crossing fingers that they stay that way). I totally get why people would want to use Invisalign as an alternative to the typical metal braces (is that what they’re called. I have no idea). For self esteem, kids may feel more confident with Invisalign over traditional metal braces. Since the cost is the same, I don’t see why we wouldn’t consider them when/if the boys do eventually need them.
As for now, I’m still crossing my fingers for continuous straight teeth for all three of our boys. Because three kids in braces – HELLO, momma would be clipping lots more coupons to pay for that!

I always had gappy teeth as a kid and finally got veneers as an adult. It has really helped my self image. Invisalign is a great product. If my kids inherit my teeth, this product would be fantastic for them!!

I think we are pretty set for school to start but it seems there are always several things we need a few weeks into the school year and when the colder weather sets in. I shop all year long for school supplies. Even if they’re not used until next school year, if they are cheap then it’s best to stockup when you find it.
We are lucky, the alternative school our 16yr old son goes to doesnt give us a list of things they need, just stick the kid on the bus and enjoy that he’s gone for a few hours. LOL. We dont really buy a new wardrobe either. As long as he has clothes that fit and are right for the season, he couldnt care less. :)

I don’t have any school-aged children yet, but there’s a chance we will before the school year ends, as we have signed up to become foster parents. I picked up as much of the “high-frequency” school supply needs (i.e. glue, pencils, erasers, paper, etc.) as I could while they were all on sale, and then I’ll pick up what each individual kid needs for his grade level when I know the ages of the kids we are getting!

My son is in a Morning out for Moms program at a local church. Therefore, he doesn’t exactly need school supplies in the traditional sense. I do try and provide classroom essentials like wipes, tissues, crayons, glue, etc whenever they are in need. They also have a party about once a month for whatever occasion is going on that month. While we homeschool and thus don’t do the traditional “fall school shopping” there are things we need to get going – namely some final bits of curriculum. School supplies are ALWAYS a huge hit (at least for me) and I always stock up on those. I’m sure my kiddos could use some under things as well – they always seem to. ;-)

I need to get my new schedule book cover from Franklin Covey- mine is falling apart from stuffing it too full.
we always get the basics but wait until the first day of school so we do not buy the wrong items- and clothes, etc go on sale labor day and they get a new top or two until then but shop over the huge end of summer sales then

Backpack, has to be special for the year. Oh, and folders that do not have the Jonas Brothers on them.
I bought what was on the supply lists for all three of my children. However, everyday someone comes home and has added something to the “finished” list. Now, I need more book covers, more folders, mechanical pencils, etc… This list never goes away, it keeps growing and growing.
