#WinGiveaways | Bissell Steam & Sweep Giveaway! {Closed}

Cleaning my house is the last thing on the list of things I look forward to. Since I’m just bonkers about cleaning (sarcasm), I am truly always on the look out for products that are efficient and effective. Get in, get out is my motto. So, I was actually sort of excited to try Bissell’s new product, the Steam & Sweep.

I have been wanting to try a steam mop like this. Just seeing how the force of the steam itself can do all the cleaning just amazes me. Plus, not having to mess with cleaning floor solution (no matter how cheap I can get it) is also a very nice thought. But the fact that this mop not only steams, it actually sweeps up before hand means that is one less step to having clean floors. It literally takes a step out of the cleaning your floors.

I also love the Steam & Sweep can be used on any hard floor surface. We have ceramic and hardwood and it’s just easier to have a product that can work on both of them. It saves me time since I don’t have to swap out products mid-clean. But, it also saves me money since I can just use one product. Well, it saves space too since I can eliminate some of the cleaning contraptions in the garage and just use one thing from now on. So that’s a bonus if you have a small space to store items.

As I’m thinking about back to school and particularly college students, I’m guessing they could benefit from this product. For one, their living area is likely not as large as our home. If it is, they are probably sharing with other students. In all actuality, I’m sure they share the same level of excitement about cleaning floors as I do ya know. So, this Bissell Steam & Sweep is good for both a college student AND a parent who just doesn’t like to clean! Turns out we have something in common :)

By the way, if you’re into social networking, you can follow Bissell on Twitter and Facebook!

Bissell is providing me (1) Steam & Sweep to give away. The average retail value is $130. To enter in this giveaway, you have (4) forms of entry, which are:

Leave me a comment and share something personal :) We’re talking floors and cleaning, so do you wanna spill it with how often you mop your floors? I remember when I first started staying home with our boys, I was mopping like three days a week. Yeah, I hear you laugh. I don’t do that anymore. I do sweep them often, just not the whole mopping part. So this will actually help me in that area :)

My form of mopping is when my daughter takes a bath in her baby tub, and splashes all over. Afterward I wipe it up with a towel and consider the floor incredibly clean. :)

    What a great giveaway!

I am such a slacker about my floors! I just use a wet paper towel and wipe up the spots I can see… and on occasion I will break out a mop and bucket… but it is not as often as it should be!

Mopping is one of my least favorite chores and yet the most satisfying. There is such a difference after I do it…maybe that’s because I don’t do it often enough!

My teenage daughters mop once a week for me ;0)
Otherwise, I would probably still mop either once a week or once every week and a half. I can’t stand dirty floors. I can handle dirty bathrooms or dust but not unclean floors.

i am a bit of a clean freak so i vacuum the floors twice a day and mop once per week. did i mention that my “vacuum” is an old Dust Buster and i crawl around the floor to acomplish this task? the charge cord was chewed by our cat at one point so it is now “repaired” with duct tape and the light doesn’t let you know if it really is charging or not.

I vacuum every other day, just the main rooms. Use the dust mop on the days I don’t vacuum. Clean the kitchen floor almost every day ( I hate the light tile the previous owners picked out). Mop the rest of the house twice a month.
One of these would cut my cleaning time in half or more!

I am terrible about sweeping and mopping. Run the Roomba once a week if I think a bout it. Mop when company is coming. Good thing our floors are dark:). I do clean up spills as they happen, so most of the dirt is dog hair. Could use a fun new gadget to get me to sweep/mop more:).

I don’t mop as often as I should. This is primarily because I have three kids and three cats and it seems somewhat futile. I have a Swiffer, a wet/dry mop, and a microfiber mop. I have yet to find a product that really works effectively and efficiently. Should I find that, I just might be more inclined. :) We DO have to vacuum the area rugs constantly. I love my Dyson–it helps me keep up with my domestic duties because I actually adore it so much. I need to have this same sense of gratification with a hardwood floor cleaner! Thanks for the opportunity!

Part of my cleaning problem is that I don’t have a set schedule for things. One of those things is the floor. We have dogs so when I see those hair dust bunnies rolling along I get out the swiffer and let it take care of them. As far as mopping that also gets done on an as needed basis. I know that is probably gross but that is the way it is right now.

Oh, how I would love this! I used to mop like once a year–I know, I’m gross–but now that I have kids it’s more like every day that my oldest is in his MDO, which means Tuesday and Thursday. It’s the best I can do right now. And I have a stinky mop (literally and figuratively) so I don’t do a great job–just the bare minimum.

I hate cleaning the floors!! We have hardwood floors in the kitchen and entry way. We have laminate in the first floor bath and laundry/mud room and these areas get the most traffic and messes in the whole house! I sweep or use the Swiffer vac at least every other day as well as the wet swiffer. Once a week I mop all of these floors. Usually by the old fashioned rag and bucket on my hands and knees method. Ok, dog hair. It is everywhere! We have hardwood floors, and the dust bunny/dog hair tumbleweeds just collect all over the place. I try to keep up with it, but really, doesn’t a wife and mom have other priorities!

Thanks so much for all your great money saving tips.(Re: mopping) Myself personally I’m at the point where I don’t even know what mopping is. :) My husband cannot stand the mops that you pull up and wring out so they’re always ending up broken somehow.I cannot stand filling up buckets and carrying around 10 lbs+ of sloshing water behind me everywhere I go .And I’m sorry to say but I do not like the Swiffer either. It drips coming out of the package and does not clean enough of an area to put all that money into buying more refills.A steam mop would be excellent and save me so much time and money. And exertion. haha! Like the old mops that make their way to the attic in the swiffer commercials, may the new steamer make its way to my house. lol Maybe then I’ll remember what a mop is ,huh????!! :) Just in an easier totally natural way!!! Yeah steam!!!!!

I have tile and wood as well and like the idea of less contraptions and cleaning products. I also have an 18 mos old and a 4 year old who are pretty rough on the floors but the biggest mess maker is our dog who leaves tracks, fur, and dirt behind. I HATE mopping! Without fail, the next meal after I mop, someone will spill or drop something on the floor. It is so frustrating! I’ve been under the weather this week and haven’t mopped. My son said, “Mom – don’t you think you should clean the floor?” Can’t wait to feel better and get that done – hopefully with my new Steam and Sweep!

I dont mop but once every few weeks. (5 back surgeries does not = good floor cleaning. We vac with a tiny little lightweight vac and then I “spot clean”. I do find myself “spot cleaning” with a wet cloth almost every day in the kitchen and I use the antibacterial cloths to spot clean in the bath. We have about half carpet. Plan on putting in more tile & hardwoods due to kids allergies.

    thanks much!

I’ll be honest…I don’t clean/mop them as often as I probably should. It’s because I hate it so much! With vinyl in the kitchen and hardwood throughout the living area (dining room, foyer, hall, bathroom, living room)….Ugh! Sweeping AND mopping…it just takes too long and is so much work. Which is why I NEED this thing! :)

I am new to your site, but I love it … found out about you at a coupon class I took with my daughter..love all the info…I am a grandmother of 8..I have given up mopping in the summer. the kids are in & out, playing slip & slide, fishing, crafting & cooking, my oldest grandaughter(age 8) fancies herself a baker. I run the sweeper when I see the dust bunnies rolling around with the cake decorating sprinkles, but the mopping won’t start until school is back in session!!

We just moved & now have hardwood floors.. .along w/ a messy puppy lol. He’s not too bad, but he’s one of the kind you can follow where he went for like 10 min after getting a drink of water :P He’s a french bull dog & oh so sweet :) But i would say i did clean the floors almost everyday w/ my swiffer wet at first, now its bout once a week. Cause it almost seems like a pointless battle to do it more now lol. Either way i <3 my wood floors. :)

With 2 kids, 2 weenie dogs, and one husband we tend to make a WHOLE lot of mess! We have hardwood and ceramic tile floors. I used to sweep the floors, vacuum the carpets, shampoo the carpets, scrub the floors on my hands and knees…. nowadays I only have time enough to cheat and vacuum real fast and glide over my floors with my soft cloth mop! Maybe if i won this I could trick my daughter into cleaning the floors for me?! She likes to use new products! Then I guess I’ll take over the job once the “newness” wears off! Hope to win!

    Embarrassing here…
I only mop when we have overnight company. Maybe 5 times a year. Yikes! Otherwise, I sweep, dust mop, and spot clean with wet wipes.
I know my husband would totally get into using this Steam & Sweep so our moping routine would probably jump up to once a week!
    Thanks for the chance!

Thank you for the review on the steam mop. I HATE to mop! In fact I often put it off as long as I can. To me it is the worse job, sweeping, getting water ready, having to get all the water out of the mop, keep everyone out of the room while it drys and 10 minutes later it looks as if you did nothing (I have off white flooring). I have been looking for a steam mop. Winning this would be totally AWESOME!!
    Thank you for the opportunity.

I would love to have a steam cleaner for my floors. There is no carpeting in our house. All hardwood or tile. It is hard for me to clean my hardwood floors often(usaully they only get cleaned 2 times a year). I am a firm believer of getting on the floor and washing it with a rag. It kills my back now. I use a swiffer and/or swiffer sweep n vac. But to be able to actually clean my floors each week would be AWESOME!!!!

I am lazy when it comes to the floors. I sweep every other day. We moved & now have dark hard wood floors that show every speck of dust (DO NOT GET dark hard wood floors) & I hate mopping. I’ve been known to squit some Dr Bronner’s on the floor & then mop with a microfiber cloth using my feet. Yep, I admit it. I now got my oldest doing it.

My husband and I just bought a house with wood floors throughout the down stairs! While I love the wood it’s been way harder than I expected to keep clean! Between 3 kids, 3 dogs, and 3 cats well you get the picture!
I tried to clean the floors recently using this product I bought ‚Äúwonder cleaner‚Äù‚Ķ‚ĶWELL it left a wonderful ‚Äúprotective coat‚Äù on the floor so now whenever we walk the family takes a nice GLIDE the a fall to our booty’s instead :) For the life of me I can‚Äôt get that wonderful protective coat off my floor!!

Since I’m home alone most of the time (my son’s away at school) I sweep maybe once a week, vacuum the rugs maybe once a month (I barely use the living room anymore, and the throw rug in my bedroom gets little traffic because of how it’s placed).

I mop the kitchen floor about once a month (I do spot clean though), and my bathroom about that often too. The hall bathroom is less often than that because I never use it – I do a super cleaning once my son leaves in the fall, after Christmas break, and after Spring break and other than that he’ll clean the floor maybe once over the summer.

With the many spills that occur by that infamous “I didn’t do it” ghost – I always have a need for such a terrific item. Never having owned a mop – I was rasied that a floor cannot be really clean unless you are on your hands/knees to scrub/wipe/rinse and dry all with the two hands I have been blessed to have on the end of my arms. I am willing to try this great invention and get off my knees!

I don’t mop often. I vacuum up the crumbs and dirt. I also hit the spills and yucky spots with a damp paper towel, clorox wipe, or even a baby wipe. My daughter likes to use the Swiffer so I let her have at it.

While we’re sharing “dirty” secrets, here’s mine. I hate, hate, hate to mop. So I’ll vacuum up all the cereal and bread crumbs, and then I’ll take the spray nozzle from the sink, and spray the entire kitchen floor with hot water. I let it sit for 5 minutes to let the gross stuff get soft…. and then I use my steam cleaner (with no water in it) to suck up all the water and crud. Now… if only I could figure out how to get the steam cleaner to clean the grout in the bathroom tile floor, I’ll be all set :-)

I have a large family with lots of foot traffic. I used to mop everyday, but now I try to get the older kids to help out and do it.

I got a new baby on the way so I’ve been doing that whole ‘nesting’ thing and cleaning everything and I know once the baby is here I’m gonna be mopping a lot so the baby isn’t on dirty floors.

I do not like to mop/clean using chemicals or detergents because I know it is not positive. But I love the thought of using steam to clean. This is great.

I try to mop weekly but there are times where I’ve let it pass for two or three weeks! Terrible, I know!

With teens, a dog, and a cat my floors get messy often so I usually mop at least once a week sometimes more.

I have an old string mop which is not fun to use so I try to clean up spills when they happen to avoid using the mop.

I’ve got a nasty sponge mop and it doesn’t seem to make much of a difference even if I do mop so I need to just get a different one.

The grout on the tile floor doesn’t clean up like the tile does and cleaning it with a toothbrush is labor intensive and back breaking! Grandma needs this steam cleaner.
