Walgreens Coupon Policy

Walgreens has posted on their website the official Walgreens Coupon Policy [1]! Hopefully, this will spare some coupon frustration, because it is now in writing!
After looking at the policy, it appears much of this is what has been shared in the Walgreens Top 5 Tips to Play [2], which helps you understand the “rules” when shopping Walgreens. Some of the biggest complaints I have heard from you from sharing your shopping experiences should be cleared up now. Some of these include:
Stacking Walgreens Store Coupons with Manufacturer Coupons
You CAN Walgreens Store coupons with Manufacturer Coupons! Many people have said that cashiers have stated since the IVC’s say “manufacturer’s coupon” you couldn’t stack. I personally called last year and was told we could. This clears that one up for everyone!
Coupons Redeemed Matching Items Purchases
This has always been the case, but it’s good to have it in writing. You can only use the number of coupons (which includes RR’s and Store Coupons) that match the number of items in your purchase. So, if you have 10 items and you have 15 coupons because a few are RR’s and Store Coupons, you can ONLY use 10 coupons.
Planning purchases in these situations is EVEN more imperative. This is when the Savings Lifestyle Weekly Scenarios file [3] will help you track every coupon and keep your multiple transactions/$ totals organized.
Coupon Value Exceeds Purchase Price
This is another one. Walgreens, in the past, has given overage. This will likely be gone in the future. It will be interesting to see how the registers alert the cashier to the overage to value down the coupon. But, this will also help those who have had issues with cashiers not accepting coupons at all for a $.99 item when the coupon value is $1 (just a penny over). We shall see!
B1G1 Coupons + Sales
You can use a B1G1 Coupon with a B1G1 Sale. Since the B1G1 Coupon cancels out the B1G1 Sale item [4] you would actually purchase, that means both are FREE!
Internet Printable Coupons
They take ‘em. My Walgreens always has. Now you have the policy (printed from the internet, the irony huh??!!) to share with them :)
There is definitely more to the policy, so I would encourage you to take a look for yourself. And make sure to print it before your next shopping trip so you avoid any cashier confusion!
What are your thoughts on the new “Official” Walgreens Coupon policy?
