I always skim the weekly Ulta sale flyer each week ^[1] to see if the brands I use are on sale. It is one of the best places to get salon quality products and high-end cosmetics for a deal. This week they have my fave KMS thermal hair protectant on sale for B2G1 Free. I’m going to the store to grab a few bottles. It’s the only way I can justify purchasing those more expensive items, honestly.

Granted, you can get drugstore items there as well and get great bargains when on sale as well. I also love that you can use manufacturer’s coupons to save even more, just like this week! Ulta the following fab deal on Olay Pro-X Products:

My Unsolicited Olay Pro-X Review

I received a sample of the Olay Pro-X moisturizer through Vocalpoint ^[4] last year. I decided to do a comparison against my Philosophy Hope in a Jar Moisturizer. My mom has used the Olay line for years. And, truly, she has beautiful skin. During my comparison, I realy felt like the Olay Pro-X moisturizer outperformed my Philosophy.

Even though the Pro-X line doesn’t directly state they help with this, I did notice my age spots (I blame the sun) were minimal after a few weeks. And, while Philosophy’s Hope in a Jar moisturizer is not greasy, it would sometimes sting my eyes if I got it too close. Olay’s Pro-X moisturizer was truly like water soaking into your skin, yet the moisturization benefits remained all day. And, bonus, it has yet to irritate my eyes! And, bonus bonus, it really has helped my skin!

Granted, the Olay Pro-X is priced about the same as Philosophy’s skin care line. However, the benefit I see is if I ever run out, I can grab it at the drugstore…or Ulta! When there are coupons and the rebate that is active now, it’s an even better deal!

How do you save on your more expensive beauty/hair products?

Side Note: Ulta carries some products now but you cannot use the great Ulta $ off $$ coupons on Philosophy items :( So, buying Philosophy at Ulta is out for me since I can purchase it through Skinstore.com ^[5] save a ton more and get cash back :)

Side Note 2: Don’t worry, I am still a die-hard Philosophy girl. I will NEVER switch from my Amazing Grace Firming Body Emulsion ^[6] – EVER!! And, using my expensive Clarisonic ^[5] for a few months, I WILL be switching back to Philosophy’s Microdelivery Peel ^[5]. It provides a much better exfoliation and is completely worth it to me! I really need to do an unsolicited review on that one!
