Jon, first off, CONGRATS on getting your consumer debt gone too!! I'll be visiting your site to read more about your journey!!

I agree there are many coupons available for processed foods. However, there are several coupons available for organic/natural products as well. As a matter of fact, I am on my own challenge now to try to eat more organic/natural foods without breaking the bank which you can read more about at: http://savingslifestyle.com/tag/whole-foods/. So, that is my own challenge. You are welcome to join me!! I need to write a few more updates since there is lots more I have learned since my last post.

I also have a post specific to coupons for organic/whole foods. You can find that list at:

http://savingslifestyle.com/2009/01/coupons-organic-and-natural-products/

You can find more coupons in the <a href="http://savingslifestyle.com/coupon-database/" rel="nofollow">coupon database</a> as well.

And, I totally agree with your comment on managing income and calories. I have lost 70 pounds since the birth of this blog, and we have also eliminated debt. I shared a post a while ago about the behaviors required to be successful for both. http://savingslifestyle.com/2009/01/losing-weight-and-striving-for-financial-freedom/

They definitely are similar behaviors.

Just found you through The Happiness Project and saw your YouTube video on consumer debt payoff. Thought I'd comment on this post, and throw out some exciting news that I have to share too!

As of this coming Friday, my consumer debt will be eliminated too! I will owe only on the house, so I can effectively start baby-step 3...so that's awesome, finally.

The real comment is this. With all of the coupon sites that I've been looking through, there's one frustrating fact about saving money at the grocery store. In order to take advantage of the savings, it requires purchasing some of the worst foods on the planet.

I'm all for frugality, and savings, and coupons, but there's got to be a way to do this without eating garbage like Tombstone Pizza. Since fitness and finances are so much alike in how we manage the income and expense (calories in/out and cashflow) it's become clear to me that it's critical to attack both behaviors at the same time.

If there were coupons for the good foods that are actually valuable and nutritious, I'm all about it. Sadly, I don't think there are many out there. Perhaps you have a challenge now?
