Giveaway: Eat Well, Save Big Cookbook

Eat-Well-Save-Big-Cookbook

I love All You Magazine. I think I’ve said that time and time again. When I attended that blog conference a few weeks, I had time to catch up with some of the fab women I met last June. It’s fun getting to connect with the *real* people who work in industries and for companies you promote and respect!

I am happy to offer this giveaway of the Eat Well, Save Big Cookbook published by All You Magazine. I received a copy of the cookbook and absolutely love the recipes. There are tons of pictures included – I’m a sucker for pictures in a cookbook! And, as a frugalista, I was happy to see that all 148 recipes are $2.50 or less per serving.

You can purchase the book at Walmart for $12, and even use this $1 Coupon to save in-store! Of course there would be a coupon to reduce the cost of the book – it IS All You we’re talking about! Oh, AND there are also coupons IN the actual cookbook! Not surprised by that one either!

But, before you run out to make that purchase, do you want to try to win one of the Five (5) Eat Well, Save Big Cookbooks I am giving away? You know you wanna :) Woot Woot!

To enter in this giveaway, you have several forms of entry, which are:

Leave me a comment in this post and tell me a bit about your coupon organization method. Do you cut all of your coupons and file them? Or, are you a File-by-Insert kinda gal – cutting just what/when you need your coupons? OR, have you made up your own method? I do have a hybrid method going on now actually. I file most, but cut what I know we use. It works for me :) I am curious to see what ya’ll do to organize nowadays!

Subscribe to my feed here or daily email update here. Leave a separate comment to inform me that you have subscribed. And, of course, if you already subscribe definitely leave a comment for that too! Remember, all subscribers are eligible to win one of my monthly giveaways as well so you should subscribe anyway!

I’m new to couponing, so right now I’m just saving the weekly inserts in a file and printing out online coupons as needed. I’m new to this site as well and really enjoying it! Thanks for all the tips: )

I cut out the coupons I use on a regular basis and keep them in an organizer in my purse. Than I file the inserts away by month in hanging file folders and put them in a filing cabinet so I can find the inserts easily if I need them again.

I divide them into categories—canned, frozen, cereal/grain, dairy, etc. When I make my list I make it by those categories too and then it is easy for me to find a coupon for what I need to buy.

Andrea, Thanks for your daily tips and deal alerts! My favorite are the grocery & drug store matchups. Such a time saver! I appreciate all the research you do, so I don’t have to! I’ve had my eye on this cookbook in your giveaway today- looks like a must-have with all those recipes so cheap. If I don’t win one, I’ll def use your coupon and grab a copy :)

I have my coupons separated and each category is paper-clipped. All the coupons are kept in a manilla envelope in my purse. It’s not the best method of organization, but for now, it works for me. I would love to get something better in the future.

I carry in my purse a small notebook that lists all our grocery items we use and their “normal” prices at each of the 3 stores I shop at (its gets updated as needed). It seems overwhelming at first, but it is the only way to know who has the best deals. I clip coupons and then do the math to see if I am truly getting a better deal on that particular brand or store. I file my coupons by expiration date. I hate if one slips by and I didn’t get to use it. Lastly I ALWAYS go by a shopping list. It hangs in our kitchen and the family is told to write down when something is down to just one left. That way I can start watching for sales and coupons.

I cut out all the coupons, and put the ones I know I will use in an envelope which goes in my purse. The rest I put in a folder which stays in the car (in case I see something on clearance or something, I want to be able to get the coupon I need).
Coupons I know I won’t use either gets put in a separate envelope to get traded or given away.

I cut and file – I use a binder. It takes time, but it’s easy to see if I have something I need. I used to use an accordian file, but that got too messy, so I’ve been trying out the binder the past few months. I think I could do the insert method too, but I’d have to do hybrid like you – some coupons I use even if there’s no sale to match them with because it’s something we need anyway that week. I worry I’d miss out on those if I didn’t clip them.

I clip the coupons and organize them into three of those little accordian plastic organizers.
1 for grocery, medicine, personal care, etc. items
1 for baby and kid items (diapers, formula, wipes, etc.)
1 for shopping, services, and dining out.
I switched to this method after my Couponizer exploded. The baby section and the services section actually totally ripped out and rained coupons everywhere. So, those were the two that I logically needed to move to their own folder. I kept most of the other categories the same or similar to those in the couponizer. Depending on where I’m going I need 1 or 2 of the organizers. For example, if I’m going to the mall, I just need the shopping/services/dining out one. I usually leave all 3 in the car so I have what I need when I need it, although sometimes getting the new coupons in the organizer is a challenge!

I cut all the coupons out on Sunday, even if we don’t use or need them. The ones we use will use in the near future are filed away in my nifty box with tabs for different types of foods/goods. The coupons we will use immediately go into a envelope that gets put in my purse with the current sale papers and list of items we need at the store (along with the great buys for pennies!) The coupons we will not use go into a manilla folder that will soon be shipped to a family in Italy. They are military and do not get coupons there so we help them any way we can.

I’ve been couponing for about 5 months now. I bought a recipe box from the Martha Stewart collection at Macys and converted it into my coupon box. Its red, and tin, and I love it! I get the Sunday paper and clip ALL the coupons, cause even though many of those things I don’t buy on a daily basis, I will buy it if I can get it for FREE with my coupon! I also print online coupons for items that I may use. Couponing has been great and saved our family tons of money.

I clip all the coupons I think I might need (which is almost all!) I have a small coupon organizer that I use to organize the coupons into categories, that corresponds with the store I use and the aisles. Before I go shopping I compare my list with my coupons and pull out the coupons I know I will use for sure and the coupons I think I’m going to use. I take all of the coupons with me, in case I find something on sale that is cheaper if I use one coupon instead of another etc. The coupons I pulled out are with me and my list and the other ones are in the organizer in my purse. For me this is the most efficient and easiest. I know there are other methods and I’ve tried all different kinds of ways and this works the best for me!

I used to clip out the coupons and file them in sections. Since a few months ago I’ve been keeping the inserts & printing out a list from a website of what coupons are in the insert. Then I put that in a sheet protector and file.
The misc. coupons I receive from Kroger & online, I cut & file in sections still.

Well, I have been couponing for a month and a half. My kids are helping me out with cutting and organizing and friends have been giving me their inserts. I have so many now that I have the binder and the file by insert methods going on. In fact, my 16 year old is asking me if she can help me coupon right now (she wants to make sure she can find some good deals on the things she likes :)

I have an old Pampers box that stores my coupons. I love it! It’s hard plastic with a lid (which I rubber band just in case of accidents). I use 4×6 index cards to divde into categories which suit our family. I also love the fact that this box hold MANY coupons. I then alpahbetize my coupons in each category so that I can find what I want quickly.

I tried doing the baseball card method but honestly it was too time consuming for me. I do not believe in cutting coupons to me is not time spent wisely. What I do is purchase 4 papers each week – I do sort them by pages alike and then put a binder on them and mark the date on them. That way when Mommy Snacks post the deals and list what week it is I can go right to it and pull the coupon. Every 5-6 weeks I will go through old coupons and pitch expired ones.

I cut coupons for the products I know I will use, or if it’s a coupon for a new product I want to try (of course, I wait until the product goes on sale). I file them right away in my coupon organizer in sections (canned goods, cereals, cleaners, etc….) . I always bring my coupon organizer to the store with me in case I see something on sale that I didnt know about.

I generally cut, categorize and file coupons on items that we normally use, but I’ve started keeping the additional coupons and inserts in case there are super deals on other items. My grocery list, which is made out according to the weekly ads at 2 or 3 local stores, is written on a recycled envelope, and I’ll insert all the coupons for the week into the envelope, but I’ll always take along my coupon file in case I find items on sale but not listed in the weekly ad. I found a Creative Memories accordian photo file at a garage sale (and made additional cardboard inserts) for my coupons–works well for me.

I keep the whole insert, mark the date with a magic marker on front and file them in a hanging file box. I also keep a notebook with baseball card holder pages and file my IP’s, blinkies, magazine Q’s, and peelies catagorically. Upon receiving the weekly grocery sales I match coupons to the BOGO items and other needed items and make a list. I then take coupons from my hanging file box and clip them out. Then check to see if there are any in my notebook . I file the Q’s in an accordian file by STORE that is easily taken in. I might visit 6 stores in one day to get my best price.

I cut all of my coupons at once and then file them all in a binder in the baseball card holder slots, sorted by category. This helps me to find items easily both when making my list and when I spot a deal in the store that wasn’t on my list! The only downside to this is that you must stay on top of things – putting coupons in the binder and pulling out the expired ones.

Unfortunately, I don’t really have a method. Well…my method is I find/get coupons I know we will use. I put them in the clip by the grocery list and take them with me to use. I usually only have three or four at a time. I should find and use more!

I do two things. I cut the coupons I know we will probably use and put them into a small coupon holder in categories. The I keep the coupon flyers in a 3 ring binder so when you post your snacks for the week and there is something that is a good deal or **Free** then I can refer back to the coupons I didn’t clip. This way I don’t miss the deals but I don’t clutter up my coupon carrier with coupons I probably will not use.

I clip all the coupons every week. I have a big binder that I put them in in baseball card sleeves. I have them broken up into all different sections such as: baby, cleaning, food, refrigerated, shampoo, laundry, etc. etc. It’s time consuming to clip and file but it’s so much easier to just take the whole notebook in when I get to the store and flip right to the one I need.

  • Marne - February 16, 2010 @ 5:51 pm

I receive your email updates and love them! For filing my coupons, I use a green heavy cardboard type file folder. I write the date on the front of each coupon insert and then add it to the front of the folder. I also use a coupon organizer where I put in coupons the I get from other sources – print off at the register, cut out of a magazine, receive in the mail, printed off my computer, etc. Then I keep both of those in a tote bag with handles so I can find it easily and don’t have to worry about someone knocking the folder over and messing up all the coupons.

I’m new to couponing too, but a friend of mine introduced me to it and told me about “the binder” technique. We both organize them using those business card sheets they have at office supply stores in our binders and separate different sections. My sections are breakfast, lunch, dinner, desert, grocery (non-food), beauty, pet, retail…. and I think that’s it.

I’m new to couponing (Baby comes in 4 weeks, and I’ll be staying home from work). So far I’m just cutting what I think we might use if the price is low enough. As for organizing, I put my coupons in order of my walk around the grocery store.

I use a combo method of the binder and file the circulars. I cut the coupons I know I will be using and I leave the others in the circular. I am a full time working mom and rely heavily on websites such as this for “coupon pairings”.

I used to cut all my coupons and file them but I had to search and search for them at the store or at home…so much time. I am trying the filing inserts method but have trouble with the printable coupons. I put them in a folder but am still searching. I definitely need to modify.

I take multiple inserts and separate them stacking like pages together, staple each coupon( making sure not to staple over the UPC), put the inserts back together. Write the date on the front and file away. Clipping what I need before I go to the store.

I cut all the cpns but only keep those items I use or desire to try. For those I keep, I put into a large binder with the baseball card type sheets of plastic. I have it divided out by types such as baking, breakfast, fast food, frozen, etc. For those that I don’t keep, I put into plastic baggies and give to friends to look through. I hate to throw away cpns even if it’s not something my family eats. It like throwing away money. I’d rather let other people have an option to take some cpns.

Just getting back into couponing. Right now I have everything in a Glad plastic container that has dividers that are marked with each category of food item. Also have categories for each drug and discount store I shop, where I file their coupons and individual coupon policies. Coupons that are good for trail size items and restaurants are in separate envelopes. Coupon codes for web sites I write on a large index card and try to keep it up to date. There’s also a large index card with who has free health screenings, pet services, etc. and when they usually have it, so I’ll remember to watch for the times and dates in the paper or news. So far, I’ve taken advantage of a free skin cancer screening, a heart screening that had a ultrasound carotid screen (huge savings) and an AARP health screen bus tour, that had a screen for osteoporosis and cholesterol. Very cool. Missed the free dental day that a area dentist had – but maybe I’ll get to go next year : D

I use several different tools to keep my couponing stuff orgainzed.. I work full time outside the home so I’ve struggled to find the best tools for me. These are what are working for me right now.

    1. Multiple Newspaper coupons get collated and then I put each page in its own sheet protector and put them in a 4 inch binder. This way I am able to flip thru the pages easily and grab all of a like coupon at one time & just cut once, no matter how many copies there are.

I also print out a copy of the coupons info listed on one of the blogs and put it in front of that weeks coupons to locate & quickly ID whats included for the week. If I have time I might go thru them & add & change values, but most of the time I dont. I can figure it out when I go to use them.

This works wonderfully for me and it just takes a few minutes every weekend. I like being able to flip thru and glance at the different Qs without makng a mess of a packet once I start cutting on them. That used to really make me batty. ;)

    2. Weekly deals- I subscribe to 5 different (maybe 6) coupon blogs so what I do is when I see a deal or stores deal Im interested in, I copy it to a Word doc.(delete the deals Im not interested in) and then print it out & place it in sheet protectors in a 1 inch binder. Each page has its own sheet protector so all I have to do is flip thru them to find the deal/s Im looking for.

When I first started couponing, I would lose deals or forget where I saw them, or save every bloggers emails (which is the same thing as losing them..LOL) so I came up with this method to keep myself straight. It works great for me and when the week is done I’ll just pull all the old deals out and add the new ones as I come across them. This binder is my fiend. :D

    3. Im working on finding the best method to deal with my printed coupons and the various books/mailers and other odd ball coupons.

I attempted to use one binder method but that didnt work too well for me.. so at the moment, I have an extra coupon sorter (the plastic multipocket type) that I’ve divided into food and non-food sections so I can find them fairly fast.

Eventually I plan to put them in the baseball card sheets in another binder but I havent made it that far yet… I can dream.

    4. I have another coupon multipocket keeper that I keep in my purse with coupons sorted by Stores. When I find a deal Im interested in, I’ll find the corresponding coupons, put them in the Store file and toss it back in my purse.

I usually empty this one once a week but there are a few that I know I’ll only use at say the grocery store.. I might leave those in there until I either use them or they expire.

And thats how I keep my coupons orgainzed. :D

I only cut what I use, but I save the rest of the dated inserts just in case you enlightening me (which you do quite often.. ;) ) I also keep my resterant and store coupons(bed bath and beyond/ Michaels etc) in a coupon organizer and leave it in my glovebox of car. I just started couponing for about 1 1/2 months. I always thought cutting coupons was a waste of time. It’s just me, my husband, and my 4 yr old son but I started realizing that going to the grocery store without a plan was costing us a lot of money. I would go with a few ideas and things we need but I always veered off my list and spent way to much money for just 1 meal idea. I started keeping the coupon section from each week, paper clip them together, on the front of that coupon section with a sharpie I write the date I got those coupon and then file them in a folder by date. I then research my local grocery store for the best deals(especially on meats), stock up and meal plan from there. I then research the items I need and find the coupon by websites that tell which coupon inserts have a coupon for those things. I will cut the coupons I know I will definetly use and keep them in my coupon holder to take to the store. I have already noticed more money in the bank and like I said I just started doing this.

I actually have 4 different organizers.
    1. Is for grocery items, I paper clip like coupons together so I see all of my coupons for any given items easily.

    2. Health and Beauty, pretty much any/everything I would buy at CVS or Walgreens. This is organized by name brand so I can find all things Olay, Aveeno etc. in alphabetical order.

    3. Is a small cleaners organizer – since cleaners are often available at either the drug store or at the grocery store.

    4. My restaurant and gift card organizer. I keep all store, pizza, fast food, services in here with any gift cards that I have for the respective store.

This system seems to save the most money because I know where everything is.

I file clipped Q for dairy, meats and other foods I may come across on manager’s special at Kroger in recycled envelopes in a shoe-type plastic box. I file the rest of the insert – H&BA, cleaning etc, in a dated file folder. It works for me most of the time. I have multiples and am struggling to find the best way to deal with that. Tried the card holders in a 3 ring binder but I just couldn’t keep up with it.

I clip all of my coupons and file them according to category. But this takes a lot of time, so I don’t know that it is the best system.

I’m in between methods. I haven’t been cutting them, I’ve been trying to date the inserts & cut as I need. However, if I found a good deal then I do’nt have my coupons. I also have a coupon box, but that is a mess. I had won a binder a year or so ago & I’m thinking about trying that out.
