Here are a few highlights with coupon matches for the week. Be sure to scan your ad for complete sale/ad information in case there is something else you may need! Don’t forget your own grocery bags since you will receive a 3 cent credit for each bag used.

Check out the current Kroger Catalina Offers too! There are several new ones to check out that are valid the entire month! I wonder if the two Kraft Offers work with one another so there would be a potential to make $7 total in Catalinas (wyb $20 in Kraft products)! There are several new Meijer Catalina Offers that may work at Kroger too. If you try any that happen to work at Kroger, please leave a comment!

I need some advice on buying diapers. This is my third time around but it’s been awhile. I’ve been buying Costco diapers but I am wondering if the PnG sale at Kroger would be worth switching to pampers? I got a hold of 5 of the $2 off diaper coupons, or should I go to Meijer where they are on sale? At Costco I get 216 diapers for just under $40. Please advise what you think would be best to do. Thanks! Beth

Beth, I’ll make some assumptions and do the math on this with you to compare the 200 diapers at Costco.

$99.99 10 Packs of Pampers (200 total diapers, estimating there are around 20 diapers in a pack, which varies)
      minus $20 (10 $2 off coupons)
minus $20 (4 $5 off Promotion Rewards – assuming you spend at least $100 of course)
      Total: $59.99

So, it’s better for you to hit Costco. However, this is a really good deal without being a warehouse and with the diapers being a brand name. If it were me, I’d go with cheaper. Most diapers have worked the same on my kids during the day. It was the overnight that I needed a diaper to hold up.

      Hope that helps!

I have no need to buy diapers myself, but think it was super SWEET to give the INVOLVED opinion above. It is really nice of you to take the time to do things like this!!

Just thought you should know that I tried the Kraft catalina deal from the Kroger Catalina page (Buy 5 and get $5 OYNO). This deal did NOT work for me. I purchased 2 Kraft Singles, 2 Kraft Natural shreds, and 1parmesan (all of the specified sizes) and got no catalina printout. The machine was working because I received the Ragu catalina from the same transaction. Just thought I would share.

I tried to use the manufacturer’s coupon from Target’s website for Lean Cuisine at Kroger. After debating with the manager, they still wouldn’t let me. What should I have done differently?

The buy 3 Kellogg cereal, nutrigrain bars or fiber bar, etc deal to get 2 gal milk free is AWESOME, except I experienced great difficulty finding cereals included. The Corn Pops are pictured in the ad, and a tag on the shelf shows Frosted Mini Wheats and Special K, but I tried all 3 of these plus Crispix and was told only the Special K was part of it. Before trying again, I went by customer serv and was told the cereals on sale for $2.49 were the “select varieties”, but on my second try these didn’t work either. Again went to CS desk to ask for help finding which, and they did manually subtract the 2 gal milk with purchasing the Corn Pops, 2 diff Spec K cereal (all 3 $2.49) and a Crispix. However, they would not allow me to use the $5/4 Kellogg cereal manuf q from the Target website. I quickly found 2 other q to use, but didn’t press the matter, as I do not know if they are “supposed” to accept it as it is manuf but does have Target logo. A great deal, but 3 tries to find what was included?? Just thought I’d warn others to watch this. CS was helpful in the end.

Kathy, thanks for sharing. Technically that coupon is a mfg coupon but I can see why stores wouldn’t take it since it has the Target logo. It’s similar to their home mailers having their logo on them but they are mfg coupons. Glad that your CS was helpful overall!

I haven’t tried the $5/5 Kraft deal yet, but for the record the $2/25 deal from a few weeks ago did not work for me!

Also, according to the signage at my Kroger (Louisville region), the $25 P&G items have to be all in a single transaction and you need to spend at least $5 on non P&G items in the same transaction. Also, the free pack of Always pads doesn’t seem to count towards the $25 total.. none of the pads that qualified as free had the “Participating Items” tag on them. Overall I ended up being disappointed by this deal. :( Hope all this helps someone else!

Thanks, Rebekah. With the Always pads, you had to choose the right size as the FREE ones (that do qualify). They were the really big jumbo sized ones. I think the deals were better last week with both sets of coupons too.

    Andrea,
I appriciate ALL your hard work, however, I’m having LOTS of trouble finding coupons for the deals this week…is it just me???
I can’t find the Progresso soup coupon in either 1/3 SS insert, and I can’t find several of the P & G coupons from 12/27; The $3.00/1 Tide Stain Release, the FREE Always Pads and Liners and the $3.00/2 Pantene Hair Products.
Did anyone else have this trouble???

Grammy, I wonder why you can’t find those coupons. I did actually clip out those from the P&G Insert so I know they are there and I don’t believe those were regional coupons. Did you get the General Mills/Pillsbury insert last weekend? That would actually be the SS Insert the Progresso is in. That one is very thin and is always easy to miss in the paper.

On Target’s site there is a ‘Save $5 when you purchase any 4′ Kelloggs cereals. It is a manufact. coupon. Would this work if used in conjunction with the Kelloggs Buy 3 Participating Kellogg‚Äôs Products: 2 FREE Gallons Kroger Milk ?

And being new to this – if I’m just going in just for this deal, will the self check out make using a coupon like this a nightmare? Thanks.

    • Andrea Deckard - January 06, 2010 @ 7:19 pm
      10.1

Clint, that coupon is legitimate since it is a Manufacturer Coupon. I hope it’s not a nightmare, but someone else commented that since it had a Target logo their store wouldn’t accept it (which isn’t accurate). Let me know how it works out for ya!

  • Rebekah - January 06, 2010 @ 5:52 pm

Grammy, I think I saw Progresso soup coupons on some of the printable coupon sites, maybe Andrea can back me up on that. :)

Andrea, maybe my Kroger is just different since it is technically in a different region (I still can’t seem to hunt down a Kroger blogger in the Louisville area!) but my coupon says Buy one (24-54 ct–these were around $5.50 I think?) get one (12-22 ct–these were around $3.50) free. I looked and looked, thankfully shopping without my toddler!, and I just never found any of the 12-22 count boxes that had the “participating item” label on them. As I am not in a hurry (just stocking up.. I’m 30 weeks pregnant) I just decided to pass.

Rebekah, no – you don’t need those now do ya! LOL I am going to install a feature to allow for subscribing to comments. With all of these updates I’ve made, I am trying to catch my breath and learn a few new things while keep the wheels on the bus going. I’ll add that one first since – hopefully next week.

    Andrea,
I did NOT get the GM insert in any of my papers (I got 5) I looked and looked for it because I was expecting it and I know it’s small. I get my papers at the Kroger in Cold Spring where I shop. I would think my inserts would be the same as yours.
Since I haven’t heard anyone else complaining, I’m going to do a “all out” search (I got behind on my clipping through the Holidays so my coupons are a mess)
I skipped the P & G deal tonight—I hope to find the coupons and get at least one deal this weekend.

    Rebekah,
I got the $1.10/3 printable Progresso coupon and used it—thanks for mentioning it–We coupon Queens have to stick together!

    Thanks,
    Grammy

I don’t think I saw it listed on your list, but in my Kroger ad this week (Great Lakes region) they have the Oikos organic yougart (5.3 oz cups) on sale for $1. With the $1 coupon from the 1/3 SS these are free!

nkygrammy- I live in NKY and I purchased my newspapers from the Remke on Turkeyfoot (I bought 4) and none of the papers included the GM insert. I looked through the papers several times and could not find them either.

a few weeks ago i had a similar situation at kroger with the manufacturer coupon from target. the cashier, after seeing the target logo, told me i couldn’t use it because it was a target coupon.
my exact response: “it’s a manufacturer coupon distributed by target, similar to this”. i then showed the cashier a kroger catalina and pointed out that it says “manufacturer coupon” but has the kroger logo on it. for contrast, i showed a target only coupon which also has a target logo but says “target web coupon” in place of “manufacturer coupon”.
    they took it.

I used the Target coupon I stated above…initially, the cashier handed it back, but I told them it was a manu. coupon and there was no problem! 4 boxes of kelloggs cereal and 2 gallons of milk for 5 bucks… I can live with that!
