Or, maybe that should be Zumba Dancin’ Queen…actually, I am totally neither :)

This week, I rejoined the Y and started to Zumba. Do you Zumba? I am going to be doing this with my friend, feel free to come and watch me make a complete fool of myself every Tuesday morning ;) It can be your weekly funny!

I was so surprised at how fun this was! No, I completely failed at most of the moves, learning them will be a challenge before I work up a good sweat (you burn typically 500-600 calories per hour session – WOWZA). But, it was good for my soul. Seriously, I don’t know about you but when I can laugh at myself, I always have fun! And, if I can burn calories while doing it, well double whammy!!

This week I didn’t lose any weight, but really didn’t expect to. My eating was *meh* and I only exercised the one time since we had a busy week. But, next week I’m back in the gym on Monday morning maybe running or maybe doing the elliptical. I’ll be adding weights too along with the regular resistance training.

What’s your favorite resistance move?

So, that’s that with me. I am now a Zumba-ite in this new year ^[1]! I think I’ll look into some other group classes too. There is just something about being accountable in front of a ginormous mirror with people turning around and seeing your shake your badunkadunk…know what I mean :)
