If you follow my Fat Burnin’ Friday, you will see that my weight has been up lately. It’s quite discouraging, but I know it’s because I haven’t been putting the right foods in my mouth! This week, I am focusing again and making the menu plan to go with it.
I recently purchased two books to help with some inspiration. I’m not going to do a full out book review, but I will tell you that Hungry Girl’s newest book, 200 Recipes under 200 Calories, has me excited!! There are some great recipes, full of fiber and they all look yummy!! I also got A Week in the Zone in an attempt to be motivated again on the whole eating lean proteins, complex carbs and no CRAP! These two books combined are a great way to jump start my desire to *eat clean* as MizFit would say!
I will say, I’m not really a recipe/book buyer. But, these two were a great help and I know I will be referring to Hungry Girl’s recipe book for years to come! You can’t get many of these recipes online yet so the book is a must if you are at all interested.
On to the menu – some will be tests for the kiddos, because this momma doesn’t do separate meals :)
Since we are heavy into football now, I’m not planning meals on the weekends. We end up grabbing something on the run, and I’m ensuring our grocery budget will allow for the additional eating out :)
Hi – I just discovered you on Twitter and love your blog! Cheers!
let me know how it goes with the kiddos. I want to try so many recipes AND eat healthier – lots of baby fat!! But my kids and hubby are not happy with that!!
Lynn, I will!! I asked our oldest son what he thought of fish for dinner and his reply was “if it’s fish sticks, that sounds great.” I had to laugh, cause we haven’t had fish sticks in years!!!
