I love Sonic!
OK, so the tator tots are out of the bag now :) Seriously, if you follow me on twitter, you always hear me talking about Sonic. My fave thing ev-ah is the Chocolate Banana Cream Pie Shake! {drool} It is SO GOOD! I don’t get it every time I go (all things in moderation for me) so it’s a nice treat when I do get it!
My kids, well, they always get the Wacky Pack Kids Meal. They are predictable children – either nuggets or hog dogs. I’m always like “get the grilled cheese” cause Sonic’s Grilled Cheese are the bomb! With the texas toast type bread {drool AGAIN}. I guess I could just order one for myself next time! That’s a good idea since it’s a smaller portion size too and I could get apples (or a shake…whatevs).
Sonic is doing something cool with the Wacky Pack Kids meals this summer, have you noticed? The toys are geared towards encouraging family interaction. I had no clue! If I would have gotten my own Kids Meal, I would know that though, right? The kids never share their toys with me!

One of our favorite summer activities is camping. We have a pop-up that we take out for several long weekends. Sometimes it’s just us, other times we go with friends.
We are enjoying evening family bike rides. Sonic happy hour is a favorite treat also!

My favorite summer activity is going to the park as a family. We love watching our little one run around (and burn off extra energy!)
We go to family camp in Arkansas and get to unplug from technology and play in the creek, go fishing and tubing, and chase lightning bugs at night (you might spot a bat flying around too). It’s the perfect family get away that reconnects us.
Fun Summer Activity: We have movie marathons. We select an actor & rent movies they’ve been in. Ex: One summer we did an Elizabeth Taylor marathon & we rented all the Elizabeth Taylor movies we could find, ate popcorn & camped out in the living room.

What an awesome giveaway!! We LOVE Sonic!! Sonic is definitely in our summer plans each year. We always stock up on free events – the library’s summer reading program, Lowe’s Build and Grow clinics, swimming at the pool, or our local children’s museum (where we have a membership and get in for free) – then, SERIOUSLY – after a fun day, we almost always stop at Sonic where we can get my favorite – and Ocean Water – and my son’s favorite – Mozzarella Sticks – and eat outside. :)

Now, after being married for 39 years, my husband and I started to fish and are loving it. Plus, we are meeting some wonderful folks fishing along with us.

We love going to Grandpa’s lake house and riding around in the pontoon boat!
One of our favorite summer time activities is spending time outside with our 16 month old, Bailey. My wife and I run through the sprinkler, then Bailey steps into his kiddie pool. He is only in his pool long enough for the grass to jump from his feet into the pool, then its back into the yard to push something. My DREAM giveaway.!!! DH and my boys love Sonic. We should own stock in that company. My kids were disappointed when told that we would be cutting back on eating out b/c of the All You Grocery Challenge starting. One of our fav summer pastimes is going to Gyros or Sonic for milkshakes. Gyros has a cool fountain and Sonic has girls on rollerskates, which the boys love. We are part of a large family and just got back from having some good family fun in the sun. Fishing….Swimming…Eating….Ymmm. BTW my husband and son love Sonic.
I love to watch the stars at night with my grandkids.
We love just being outside and being together. We do a lot of fishing, walks, hiking, and bike riding.
I enjoy taking my kids to Free outside concerts.
Our favorite summer activity is going to the local amusement park. We live 10 min away and have passes so we go at least once or twice a week. We love sonic too!
We love to camp out! And when we can’t get away camping, we sometimes set the tent up in the backyard and “pretend’ camp for the night! The kids love it, and hey, so do I!

OMG, there is a CHOCOLATE banana-creme pie shake?! I am sooooooo gonna drive the 45 miles to the closest one for that!! My first shake experience at a Sonic was a year ago in Cali (I am in WA State) was the regular Banana Creme Pie shake, and the first words out of my mouth were “orgasmic awesomeness!!” Gosh only knows what the chocolate version will be like!! :P~ I am drooling already, and my stomach is growling.
But to answer your query, growing up, the family would always pack up for a road trip to see the grandparents on the Coast. My favorite activity was hunting for cool rocks and shells on the beach with my grandmother.

My favorite summer activity is to watch my kids swim and splash in our little blow up pool in the backyard. There is no greater joy for me, to see my kids having a blast doing something so simple and fun!
My favorite summer activity (ok, one of them) with our kids is to take cold watermelon wedges outside and sit and slurp and spit seeds with our 5 kids…and half the neighborhood kids….lol…and I don’t know….it just seems like the quintessential summertime activity to us! No mess, no fuss, just a whole lot of fun! And we also enjoy going to Sonic during the summer because during 2-4 pm, they have a “happy hour” where all drinks are BOGO! They speak my language!! We get Rt. 44 Strawberry Limeades and some of us get Cherry Limeades…but they are oh-so-good, if you’ve never tried them….you should!

You are so right about the Chocolate Banana Cream Pie Shake yum-o! my favorite summer time activity is hanging out with my parents in the back yard just about dusk listening to my parents stories about when they dated my mom always tells me how my father used to take her to Sonic and order the extra long chili cheese conies and how they would all ways get a bag of onion rings to share, and then they would head out to watch a movie. I must have heard this story a thousand times but it always seems so romantic.
We enjoy playing bocce ball as a family in the summer. Nobody can remember what that little white ball is called, so we always call it the “pimento”!

Favorite summer fun? Camping and roasting marshmallows by the fire. Last month we tried roasting over Grandpa’s fire pit. That works great too and doesn’t require a tent.
In the summertime we just enjoy being in total control of our family life. No sports, no scouts, no library books to remember, no deadlines, no schedules, no rushing, no buses to catch, no homework –just us relaxing together. The pool is definitely the favorite with my four boys!

Ga Parks are free on Wednesdays (normally $5/carload), so I load up the boys and hit the steps (all 1200 of them) every Wednesday!

I love their tater tots. And grilled cheese. I haven’t noticed the kids meals, and I often get a kids meal for myself because it limits my portion size (haven’t had one at Sonic in a while, it’s a special treat to go there).

My family loves to go to Water Country USA. It’s 15 min. from our house. We like to go down Big Daddy Falls and pray that someone else besides ourself, gets stuck under the water fall! We also love to float down Hubba Hubba Highway that has a strong current.
We like to invite a bunch of friends over & have cookouts. We fire up the chimmineas too and everyone roasts marshmallows & make smores. All the kids run around playing, swinging, doing bubbles, etc. Great fellowship.

They sell for about $80 so that was VERY frugal!!! We also love grilling out with friends and sitting on our patio watching the lightning bugs! Living in the country is the best!

We share a big garden with our neighbors,so from around the fourth of July to August 3rd, we are shucking and silking corn, picking and shelling peas and butterbeans and canning green beans. We also can peaches, blueberries and make jellies!
And my favorite food at Sonic is the #2 Burger with mustard with a coconut cream pie shake. It is sooo good.

I love giving the children instant cameras (easy for them to grasp) and take them to the local pet store. They have smiles for days (and we stay cool indoors here in AZ) by taking photos of the tropical fish, reptiles, gerbils etc. We also learn about the care of the animals and hang up their “art work” after developing the film!

I registered on your site. I found out about you on facebook where someone had posted a feed about you. I think this is a really neat site and I’m really glad I found it. As far as what we like to do for summer activities we love spending Sundays and some Saturday afternoons on the boat out on the lake with close friends and family. My two year old loves papa’s boat. We always try to hit sonic at least one of the days before we go. My son loves their grape slushes. In the evenings we grill out alot and play out in the backyard. Thanks for this site it is really neat.
