Recipe: French Toast Casserole

I make this dish for just about every MOPS meeting our group brings breakfast. It's super easy and always goes over well. At the last meeting, a few moms wanted the recipe so I wanted to publish it here for everyone. I will admit, I actually got this from a previous year's MOPS newsletter so I can't say I created it, but I have modified it a bit for added yummyness!

French Toast Casserole

12 Slices Bread
1 Stick Butter
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
2tbsp Ground Cinnamon
8 Eggs
1/2 cup Milk
1/2 cup Syrup

:: Melt the butter and mix with brown sugar. Spread this over the bottom of the pan.

:: Layer the bread in the pan.

::Mix the eggs and milk. Pour over the bread. Sprinkle Cinnamon on Top.

:: Bake on 350 for 50-60 minutes. Pour syrup on the top while still hot.

You can prepare this the night before to save time, or in the morning and bake immediately. I've done both and it tastes the same!

  1. Sounds yummy! Are you using just regular sliced bread or a thick french bread? Looking forward to trying this out.
    Thanks,
    Alicia

  2. Hey Alicia, I’ve just used regular bread but just the other day I was talking about using french bread in this recipe. I think it would be great (actually, using the same French Bread Baguette recipe that I’ve posted before) and easy to make up. You could make up a few bread batches and freeze it too for when you were ready to make it.

    1. Andrea, I’d say it’s a 13 x 9 pan. But, you can add/take away ingredients to fit the pan that works for you.
