Alyssa sent this to me a while ago, and I thought it was brilliant! So many people are focused on being religious that you lose sight of authenticity in Christ. Christ is about relationships, not about labels. Actually, attaching one of those labels to myself and my faith relationship makes it seem too scripted for me!

Being a follower of Christ is very simple to accept. The path our lives take sometimes is complex…a lot of times it seems unbearable! But, it’s the relationship we have in our hearts for Christ – for others – that make the burdens and trials easier to get through. Thank God Himself, we aren’t labeled as “religious” or “WWJD” like this clip jokes about. Those terms definitely have their place, but I don’t see the effectiveness in my relationships because they are so “played” out.

I have many prayers for my family’s relationship with Christ. So many in my family aren’t believers. I got a piece of advice from a sweet lady at our church and she said “We have to love them before we can share Jesus with them.” I firmly believe that. There aren’t labels on my relationships with my friends or my God. I want to show my family/friends love, hopefully be some sort of light (even in my craziest of moments – that’s authenticity), and then show them what Jesus has done for me. Oh, Praise His Name! There is so much to tell!!
