Soul Snack: Then Sings My Soul Saturday

I was one of the lucky winners in helping Amy to spread the word on this wonderful meme. Please take a minute to participate today! I have gotten many new favorites on my ipod thanks to this meme!

As a winner, Amy sent me a cd – actually, it was “Selah – Greatest Hits.” I’ve been wanting a Selah cd for a while. I follow group member, Todd, wife’s Angie’s blog where she shares her faith and the story of losing their precious little girl earlier this year. Her blog is an inspiration – and Selah can “sang!”

Now, I do love the old hymns – mostly the popular ones only because I’m not familiar with the entire hymnal. My hubs’ father used to preach at a little country church and when we visited, we would sing, “there is power in the blood” but the word power would be pronounced “pow’r.” Can you hear it now? :-) So, you just never know what style you’re gonna get when you hear hymns – it doesn’t really matter as long as we’re making a joyful noise, right! So, when I listened to this cd (which has many wonderful hymns), I was blessed! These arrangements are AMAZING – they are contemporary yet still true to the beautiful songs as they should. I’m so thankful Amy sent this one to me!

So, this is the song that has been playing over and over in the van as I’m driving. It’s not a hymn (the songwriter was inspired by a hymn though) but I know it’s just what my soul needed this week!

Please visit Amy and hear some other blessed songs. You will be glad you did! And, if you haven’t participated in this meme…well, what are you waiting on? :-)

Beautiful. In these tough economic times, I need to be still, because God will take care of me.

Oh my. what a beautiful song. I’m going to have to find this one to keep in my car.
