Oh, I was soooo excited when I read the tweet [1] from Leslie [2] on the new Upromise eCoupons. I’ve done the due diligence for you so you don’t have to.

The basic rundown is that you load coupons on your Shopping Card to get additional discounts. These should work exactly the same as theShortcuts [3] and P&G Esaver [4] coupons, however, these discounts do not come off your grocery total, they are deposited into your Upromise account. Once your coupons are activated, you shop away! If you’re new to Upromise, you can read my snack on the company here [5]. It’s a great great way to save for your kiddos college (or even pay on your student loans [6]!) – every little bit helps!

The process to load the eCoupons was really simple to do. Here are some steps for you if you want to get some extra savings too (and, well, why wouldn’t ya :-) :

  • Click here [7] to join Upromise if you’re not already a member.
  • Go to My Account to activate/enter your Shopping Card (Kroger and CVS for me). You can enter your zip to find participating stores in your area too!
  • Go to the top of the screen and select Earn Rewards then eCoupons.
  • Select eCoupons for your card – remember, Kroger’s policy limits 45 ecoupons at any given time.
  • Click Activate eCoupons and you’re done! The Upromise instructions were very straight forward.

I am going to test this one this week since Huggies Supreme diapers are on sale at Kroger for $9.99. There is a $1 Shortcuts [3] [8]coupon, a $1 Manufacturer Hard Copy Coupon, now this $1.50 eCoupons coupon. My OOP at the store will still be $8 but I’ll receive a $1.50 deposit into my Upromise account which makes the net price $6.50 – still not cheap IMO BUT I’ll be testing and spending for the greater good and your confidence that it works!

Enjoy! I’ll be back to report when I do my weekly shopping! :-)
